should have been one South African in there as well

I would have included Steyn (6 wickets in 5 matches, much better average ave: 13.66 and economy 4.82) instead of Malinga (8 wickets in 7 matches, ave: 25.87, economy 8.44).

Balaji makes a strong case too

I think only Malinga is questionable... Others select themselves. Infect it must have been very close between Narine, Ajantha and Ajmal for 2 spinner spot. One cane make a case for Nasir but those who are selected did much better than him.

Umar Akmal averaged 62.50 but others deserved it more imo on the basis of their aggregate of runs … but Umar simply wasn’t given a fair chance to shine or make those big scores that we know he is capable of

3 not outs once again proves my point that he’s batting too low down the order. He is too talented a batsman to be batting at #6. Whatsmore he has shown good attitude and discipline of late

Good point MindHacker2.... Top 7 are basically either openers or #3 of their team. These are the players who get more balls to play by virtue of playing up the order. If they chose players for each positions then team would be very different.

The team is in batting order and it is the right one imo. Both Gayle and Watson are better openers than Brendon McCullum

Brendon, for all his brilliance is essentially a minnow basher (cf. Imran Nazir, though Brendon is a much better batsman than over-rated Nazir). subtract 123 against BD from his aggregate of runs in the competition (212) and you get 89 runs in 4 innings against top flight nations!

Brendon is not even the best NZ batsman. Ross Taylor is...
