ICC wants proof of injuries

**ICC wants proof of injuries **](http://www.cricketweb.net/article.php?CategoryIDAuto=13&NewsIDAuto=3501)

The ICC have demanded to see evidence of the injuries sustained to Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif which ruled them out of the World Cup earlier in the week, or it will not allow Pakistan to replace them in their squad.

The duo were withdrawn from the squad, when Pakistani officials revealed their injuries would take more than two weeks to heal and that they would be replaced by Yasir Arafat and Mohammad Sami.

However, according to The Guardian, the ICC is not convinced and will wait to see medical evidence of the duo’s condition before ruling whether or not their replacements can join the squad. If not, Pakistan face the prospect of entering the tournament with a severely depleted list.

The Pakistani Cricket Board is insisting the withdrawal of the players is not drug related, saying that risking either of the bowlers in the West Indies could result in career ending injuries.

Re: ICC wants proof of injuries

I think this is going to be an ugly outing for Pakistan.

Both Shoaib and Asif have led us down, really. PCB too played its cards not so wisely. They should been left out from the team in final 15. Why taking risk, when experts already said that the amount of banned substances is too high that it will not be flushed out this quick.

Re: ICC wants proof of injuries

Proofing Injury is very easy... It is really word of the player. If he says he is pain in neck for last 3 months you have to accept it.How can you proof he doesnt?

Re: ICC wants proof of injuries

ICC should have asked for their drug tests instead, injuries like fair and balance says are hard to prove

why dont PCB just re-test them in front of the whole world, then everyone will shut up, unless ofcourse they are trying to hide the truth

Re: ICC wants proof of injuries

On the positive side of things, I have one thing to say; Thank God Almighty on ICC's timely intervention. I will sleep peacefully at night knowing that there are no doors and windows for Mohammad Sami to break and enter anywhere into.

Re: ICC wants proof of injuries

the proof is being provided by doctors in lahore and they were examined in london.lol.icc should send their own doctors over and then it will get really interesting

Re: ICC wants proof of injuries

Next up....require proof of qualification of the Doctor certifying the injury.
Injury proof from Hakeems not allowed.

Re: ICC wants proof of injuries

How can one proof an injury unless its a bloody one? Like if i say I am having pain in elbow, they have to accept this coz you cant see pain. :blub: :tubeIight: :energysaver:

Re: ICC wants proof of injuries

you can through x rays.i doubt if pcb have been able to provide that.dr naseem ko bhi panga layna tha malcolm speed say.
