The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday announced that Pakistan leg spinner Yasir Shah has been charged with an anti-doping rule violation under the ICC Anti-Doping Code.
The sample Yasir provided in an in-competition test, which was conducted on Nov 13, 2015, was found to contain the presence of chlortalidone – a prohibited substance which appears in Section 5 of the WADA Prohibited List (in the category of Specified Substances).
In accordance with the ICC Anti-Doping Code, pending the outcome of the disciplinary process, Yasir has been provisionally suspended, read a statement by the ICC.
The matter will now be dealt with in accordance with the process set down in the code, the statement added.

That said, I am wondering what the hell is wrong with these players. How will dope help a spinner. Or is somebody doing this to destroy Yasir's career.
I think PCB should provide a personal psychologist for each player. These are bad times and Pakistan is in no position to loose a good player of caliber.

Yasir doesn't seem the kind of person who would intentionally indulge in cheating/doping. Unfortunately, the punishment is likely the same regardless of intention. PCB medical staff would not have prescribed anything to him that's on WADA banned list. It's possible that Yasir consulted some other doctor who prescribed the banned drug to him.

100% conspiracy by indian board and ICC against pakistan. there is absolutely no way any pakistani player would ever use such stuff as it is haram in islam.
they are scared of pakistani talent and want to get rid of them. in past poor shoaib akhtar and moahammad asif have been banned by ICC as well for same allegations.
PCB should sue ICC for maliging and detroying our cricket.

brother, that is a different discussion but all those muslim killing is done by western, indian and jew agents. those killers are not muslims. no muslim will kill a fellow muslim. it is haram in our religion.

btw, it was Rameez who hit Yousuf below the belt and then Yousuf had a field day with Ramiz (aap bus English k teacher hain ! LOL)
and on Yasir’s issue. I am sure he did not take performance enhancing drug but it was some side effect of medicines he took after injury in 1st test. Whatever the case was, players should be more vigilant taking any medicines. I only takes a phone call to contact PCB’s physio to make sure medicine is on the approved list (or not on the banned list). IF it was a mistake by someone else in PCB (who prescribed the medicine to Yasir), they should be fired right away. Unfortunately I guess Yasir still have to face the punishment
