ICC official meets Veena Malik

A senior official of International Cricket Council’s (ICC) anti-corruption and security unit has reached Pakistan in connection with the ongoing investigations into allegations of ‘spot-fixing’ against three members of Pakistan team in England. ICC official Hasaan Raza met Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials and also gathered information from Veena Malik, the former girlfriend of Mohammad Asif, one of the tainted players. “Reza interviewed film actress and model Veena,” sources told Daily Times on Wednesday. Veena in a television interview had claimed that she had evidence of links between Asif and an Indian bookmaker and that the Sydney Test between Pakistan and Australia was fixed. She has alleged that Asif had personally told her about this and she had also met the Indian bookmaker.

Sources said Veena in her statements to Hassan disclosed about Lahore and Karachi based bookies relation with Pakistan cricketers and international gambling rackets. “Veena also mentioned names of bookies Haji Naeem from Lahore and Lal Chand from Karachi who have direct links with international gambling rackets in South Africa, UAE and India,” sources added. Sources said now the ICC’s official would interrogate local bookies with the cooperation of local police. “Lahore police have received special instruction about massive cleanup of gambling dens and bookies in the provincial metropolis and also issued directions for formation of special teams which only the officer would include who have their honest track record,” sources said.

Enough of this veena now :aj:

Re: ICC official meets Veena Malik

Why? If she has credible information then let it go to the right people and let them take action instead of shoveling under carpet and if she doesn’t have good enough information then we will come to know that.

‘Bookie’ Dixit to pen tell-all book

Dheeraj Dixit thinks pen is mightier than the camera. The freelance photographer accused of being Mohammad Asif’s Indian link in the match-fixing racket by the player’s former girlfriend, Veena Malik, says he has already started working on a book that will reveal everything.

Dixit told HT from London that this is the best way of clearing his name, which has been tarnished by “Malik’s accusations”. He said the writing part will be done “in the next two weeks”. He is expecting the book to be out by the end of this month.

“I will write about my association with Asif, why I met him in Bangkok (Malik claims something fishy took place when Asif met Dixit there) and also about what she told me over phone when I was in Dhaka in January (Dixit claims Malik wanted to sell match related information to Indian bookies through him).”

The New Delhi-based photographer refused to disclose more about the content of his book. He claimed to have received offers from several publishers in India and that he is yet to choose one. “That will be done in a day or two. The book will be in English and translated in Hindi afterwards.” The title of the book is yet to be finalised.

Dixit plans to stay in London till the end of the limited-over series between England and Pakistan. He did not get accreditation to cover the matches but said that some “off the field” shoots will keep him busy. His photography isn’t restricted to cricket, he said, and claimed to have worked for some noted industrialists in England.

“I haven’t done anything wrong. I have experienced the worst time of my life in the last few days (since Malik mentioned his name following the spot-fixing controversy). I don’t deserve this and I expect people to form an opinion about me after they read my book. It’s sure to cause a stir.”

Re: ICC official meets Veena Malik

if she was that patriotic why the hell she didnt provided this info to PCB at the time when Aus tour was going on

Re: ICC official meets Veena Malik

I am not saying she has credible info, I am saying let ICC judge that. During Aussie tour she probably wasn't convinced enough of his malpractices.

Re: ICC official meets Veena Malik

if nothing else, Asif should be banned for associating with trash like Veena. look what you've brought into the mainstream now.

ICC ACSU officials question Veena Malik in Pakistan

A two-member team of the International Cricket Council anti-corruption and security unit on Wednesday questioned Mohammad Asif’s ex-girlfriend Veena Malik regarding her statement that the tainted Pakistan bowler had done spot-fixing in recent times.

The senior officials reached Pakistan in connection with the ongoing investigations into allegations of ‘spot-fixing’ against three members of Pakistan team in England.

Besides Asif, the other two Pakistani players under investigation are captain Salman Butt and young pacer Mohammad Aamer.

The team, sources said, had met with actress and model, Veena Malik in Lahore to question her about her statement on a television channel that her former boyfriend, Asif had done spot-fixing in recent times.

"The ACSU includes Hasan Reza, a Pakistani police official who has recently been appointed as the ACSU officer in Pakistan. He is a serving DSP in Punjab police and is working with the ACSU on deputation," one source said.

He said Reza had also recently been to Sri Lanka for the series there as the ACSU monitoring officer of the ICC. He has replaced the late Colonel (retd) Nur Muhammad as the ICC security officer in Pakistan.

“The two officials had a meeting with Veena today but everything is being kept secret including the identity of the other ACSU man,” the source said.

Veena Malik on a recent television interview claimed she had proof that Asif had been in touch with an Indian, Dik**** who set up the spot-fixing episodes in recent series.

“Veena also told the ACSU officers that Dik**** had called up Asif around 17 times on telephone in recent times,” the source added.

Dik**** has in the media denied Veena’s allegations claiming he had nothing to do with fixing or betting and that he was surprised at her claims.

Dik**** told Geo News that he only knew Veena sparingly and had no close friendship with Asif.
*
But Veena claimed that Dik**** used to regularly set up deals with Asif.*
**
“We are not aware of Veena gave any concrete evidence to the ACSU officers,” the source said.**

Veena had a highly publicised break up with Asif earlier this year when he decided to get married to a girl chosen by his parents.

Veena then claimed Asif owed her around 13 million rupees which he had taken as loan from her when he was suspended from international cricket in 2009.

The two traded allegations against each other on the media but reached a settlement on the intervention of a common friend.

Re: ICC official meets Veena Malik

My take... is that she does had some credible info/hints that would prove that Asif does have links with the cheaters and boosts the chances of him being convicted..

Why did Veena not disclose this before? Well apparently she did.. but not on a big scale.. prolly cuz she was the gf.. eitherway I am not defending her..she comes across like a very dumb individual.. but that doesnt mean that Asif gets off free...

Of course Veena is blowing her trumpet more now because shes the mad ex-gf.. but as long as it gives us more info on Asif..y not?

Is it raelly a surprise Asif did stuff like this? He is a proven cheater. Why are people trying to defend him?

Re: ICC official meets Veena Malik

Good for Veena, now she's got international clientele.

Wonder what credible information can she have? emails? letters? video tapes?
Lets see if she can prove her allegations.

Veena hands over proof of Asif’s links with bookies to ICC

Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif’s ex-girlfriend, actress-model Veena Malik, has handed over “proof” of his alleged links with Indian bookies to an official of the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unit.

Hasan Raza, who is a top official of the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unit for South Asia, met Malik at her residence here last evening after she alleged that Asif was involved in match-fixing and she had “ample” proof of this.

“I handed over Asif’s voice recordings with the bookie and some other related information to the ICC official,” Malik told a TV news channel.

"From head to toe, Pakistani players and officials are involved in match-fixing. I had gone with Asif to Bangkok before Pakistan’s tour of Australia. Asif told me he was offered $40,000 by an Indian bookie to under-perform in Australia but he demanded $200,000.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board had evidence of this but no action was taken against him,” she said.

Asif, his fellow pacer Mohammad Aamer and Test captain Salman Butt are at the center of an alleged ‘spot-fixing’ scandal exposed by British tabloid ‘News of the World’.

The tabloid reported it had paid 150,000 pounds to a fixer for three no-balls bowled by Asif and Aamir during a Test match against England

Re: ICC official meets Veena Malik

I’ll sue Asif’s ex, Veena Malik: Dheeraj Dixit

New Delhi: Dheeraj Dixit never had a permanent job but that did not stop him from being to close to the who’s who of cricket, the sport he followed passionately.

In the centre of one of the most audacious match-fixing scandals in cricket history, Dixit is a wounded man waiting for the right time to get back at his detractors.

Number one on his list is Veena Malik, the estranged girlfriend of the Pakistani pacer Mohammad Asif who was allegedly involved in spot fixing, in a sting run by a British tabloid.

After Asif, Mohammad Amir and Salman Butt were named by bookie Mazhar Majeed as being involved in fixing in the ongoing Pakistan-England Test series, Malik surfaced on several TV channels claiming she knew all along that Asif was involved in fixing and showed calls and SMS records to substantiate her claims. (Watch: Pak match-fixing storm)

It was Malik who revealed that Dheeraj was Asif’s alleged Indian link who facilitated fixing of matches played in India. Talking exclusively to MiD-DAY from London, Dixit said that he is formulating his response along with his lawyers and they had advised him not to speak to the media.

**“I am going to sue Veena Malik for tarnishing my image. I am talking to my lawyers as to how much damages can be claimed,” he said.
**
“When I was in Dhaka in connection with a cricket series, Veena had called me that Asif is too naive to fix a match. She claimed that she manages Asif’s affairs. She asked me if I could help her as I am very close to the players,” he said.

“I have all the documentary evidence and will come out clean of this mess. I have nothing to do with cricket fixing,” Dixit claimed.

The freelance photographer rejected media reports that he is going to write a tell-all book, adding, “In fact, my friend wants to write a book on my experience of covering cricket matches across the world, especially in the subcontinent. The book would have the full truth and tell the people that I am clean.”

Dixit plans to stay in London till the end of the limited-over series between England and Pakistan. He did not get accreditation to cover the matches but said that some, “off the field” shoots will keep him busy. His photography isn’t restricted to cricket he said, and claimed to have worked for some noted industrialists in England.

‘I expect a bravery award’](http://news.in.msn.com/national/article.aspx?cp-documentid=4351209)

… She continues: “I seriously expected a bravery award after what I have done. My life isn’t secure anymore after these revelations. This is a male-dominated world and they try to cut to size all bold women. In Pakistan, it is a crime to be bold, beautiful and young. And I am all three.”…

…There were reports that she maligned Asif because she wanted to call it even with him as he didn’t treat her well. Pat comes the reply: “Rubbish! Did I get him caught on doping allegations earlier in Dubai and the IPL? He is a habitual offender and a wayward vagabond. He has fooled around with many other girls, but I remained silent throughout. I am a ‘journalistic’ actor, I get my facts right before doing anything.”…
