^ Kheti bari would be better for his fitness than a BA in classical poetry. Pakistan government should support bright kids with a future in, say 'practical aspects' of our national life rather than sattay baaz sports-people.
He should never be selected again for Pakistan team as that would create another bad precedent.
He made a mistake and a bad judgement in an environment protected by PCB and SENIOR BHAIs of the TEAM.....He should be allowed to play again if and when he can get away from the British courts as well as the ICC ban on him.
While Asif and Butt can go raise cattle or something, their careers in cricket are over.

I fear it is a case of Shock and denial right now. All in All its PCB’s rotten environment that should have been banned and a 90 day turnaround required instead of banning these players…

i meant it for pakistan. i said sad and terrible-beacuse of these players pakistan and its cricket is under another bad news. gives other people another opportunity to laugh at us.

Butt and Asif are history. I doubt Amir will be able to make a comeback after 5 years, so he is history too.

^^ lets see what comes of the british CPS case coming up - if he (Aamer) can dodge that and subsequently get his ban reduced by the CAS then he may just have a comeback chance....
For now, the days of Seam and Swing ala' Wasim Akram are gone......

This ia a correct representation of our society in Pakistan. The educated (Butt) are leading the corruption while the opportunist (Asif) and gullible (Amir) are following with their eyes closed.
The only reason I feel sorry for the three is because they got caught while the nation of 170 million still enjoys the freedom of corruption from the janitor at a government office to the president of Pakistan. We need to take ownership of our failiures and move forward as responsible citizens.

Whats really disappointing is that even now none of these players are apologizing for this behavior.
The ICC did give Amir a chance to come clean straight up.. so that he can help the ICC dig deeper into this fixing nexus.. if he had cooperated and being honest he couldve walked away with a lesser punishment. But he chose the wrong path.. the path of denial and more lies. Not once has he apologized or admitted his fault. Denial.. lies.. and more lies.. IMO he fully deserves the 5 years if not more.

Pak media should question and insult these players when they get a chance. Veena got so many anchors harassing her and insulting her.. that’s the LEAST these three deserve. Veena was in a show representing nobody but herself but she gets so much sht? And these three players WERE representing pakistan.. wearing pakistani colors.. and they get fans cheering for them and anchors being sympathetic and supportive :s

There are those like you and then those like me, poles apart. So no point in trying to make north and south meet.
This is why …read here - I share the same sentiments…I don’t sympathize with his wrong decisions and mistake but I sympathize with giving him another chance. Even the rest of the world gives you another chance and this was his first ever incident.

Not every crime deserves a second chance. This sport is loved by millions!! I am talking as a fan of the sport in general. Anybody who cheats us is dead to me. regardless of where they are from India Pakistan or SA. I don’t ever want to see them play again. Believe it or not I was a pretty big Amir fan until last summer.
But that’s just me. The ICC has not banned them for life. Amir can still come back and have his second chance in 5 years. He will only be 23. Golden Asif said something brilliant earlier in this thread that he should use this time in getting some education.

He is crying, he is devastated, didn't he have the brain to think when he was looking at all those £'s. Now he wants the nations prayers, at that time he didnt care about the nation.

That's true. Their lawyers are probably playing a big role here too. Lets see if they do admit it at some point after the criminal proceedings.
Azhar came out and admitted his involvement. I cannot recall of Hanse Cronje, Salim Malik and Jadeja did the same?

As Fayz put it very well. The guys are just a reflection of the society they stem from. Have a look at socalled leaders and u see a pattern here.
Things will need decades of education & hard work to eradicate this cancer.
