Re: ICC Champions Trophy 3rd Match: Oct 17th, Pakistan V Sri Lanka, Jaipur
Look at the headline on Cricinfo: Pakistan SNEAK home.
DUDE, there were 11 balls left and we had 4 wickets in hand, how is that sneaking home? I'd say we won comfortably in the end!..
Saale jealous mofos.
Re: ICC Champions Trophy 3rd Match: Oct 17th, Pakistan V Sri Lanka, Jaipur
ALhamdolillah Malik and AKmal coming back to full form...
even if it is on indian tracks...I pray they continue with this form...

Re: ICC Champions Trophy 3rd Match: Oct 17th, Pakistan V Sri Lanka, Jaipur
This is what hindustan times had to say before the match
"And on Monday evening, practising under floodlights at the Sawai Man Singh stadium here, the mood in the Pakistani camp was reflected in the faces of the players. Almost uniformly sombre.
It was not unexpected, for right through the day, the Pakistan team has been hounded by the media and curious onlookers.

Equally obviously, their Tuesday encounter looks in danger of being over before it has begun, unless the Pakistani players use this game to prove a point to the rest of the world.
“It would have been worse had such a thing happened after our first game,” said Pakistan skipper Younis Khan on Monday. Well, Younis was evidently trying to put up a brave face in the wake of unprecedented circumstances but no one would envy him his position.
Coming so soon after the Oval fiasco and Inzamam’s ban, Younis’s own stated disenchantment over divisions within Pakistan cricket, his resignation from the stand-in captaincy and equally dramatic reinstatement, this current scandal could well be another nail in an already scarred coffin."

Re: ICC Champions Trophy 3rd Match: Oct 17th, Pakistan V Sri Lanka, Jaipur
i think the difference was that srilanka does not have any big hitters coming down the order and pakistan does.
Re: ICC Champions Trophy 3rd Match: Oct 17th, Pakistan V Sri Lanka, Jaipur
Yep. Agreed. But thats the kiya-dhara of time ![]()
Re: ICC Champions Trophy 3rd Match: Oct 17th, Pakistan V Sri Lanka, Jaipur
Well noted. They claim to have all rounder of sorts in Maharoof and Vaas but they both dont really cut it at the end. I guess Dilshan’s form is a big worry for them as well as the absence of Chandana.
Re: ICC Champions Trophy 3rd Match: Oct 17th, Pakistan V Sri Lanka, Jaipur
^lol.well to be fair i think they would've won had it not been for the heavy dew on the ground..dew kills all swing and spin on the ball and it comes on to the bat faster.
Re: ICC Champions Trophy 3rd Match: Oct 17th, Pakistan V Sri Lanka, Jaipur
I mean look at this way, we won this game via bats, which is not new we have been relying on our middle order batsmen and other all-rounders to save the game for us. What worries me the most is the absence of Asif and Akhtar because their presence gives us more options and ways to win games. It will be interesting and a great litmus test for Younis if he wins the up coming games with a toothless balling side because Inzamam did win/ draw series ODI and Tests without Asif and Akhtar.
Re: ICC Champions Trophy 3rd Match: Oct 17th, Pakistan V Sri Lanka, Jaipur
i liked the way openers attacked in the first 15,it got pakistan off to a fast start..they did nt have a negative metanlity of saving wickets and being cautious..otherwise i think pakistan would have lost..so well done openers.
Re: ICC Champions Trophy 3rd Match: Oct 17th, Pakistan V Sri Lanka, Jaipur
Congratulations all. But was anyone able to spot Afridi in the post match celebrations and ceremony.
Re: ICC Champions Trophy 3rd Match: Oct 17th, Pakistan V Sri Lanka, Jaipur
^yeah i was thinking the same thing,i did nt see him there..may be he had another fight with younis.
Re: ICC Champions Trophy 3rd Match: Oct 17th, Pakistan V Sri Lanka, Jaipur
^ Maybe he was busy reviewing his achievements for the day:
Dropped catch
two misfields and
a sizzling innings of 1 run off 8 balls.
With players like that we need not fear anyone in the cricketing world. ![]()
Re: ICC Champions Trophy 3rd Match: Oct 17th, Pakistan V Sri Lanka, Jaipur
Yah I'd rather have Rao batting/fielding than Afridi these days.
