even though I am a Malik fan I am not impressed with your arguments for two reason. from what I have seen of hammad Azam he is a better all rounder than Malik and can deliver the same and even more runs than you have mentioned. he reminds me of razzaq in his prime. Furthermore a full batsmen like haris will probably do more damage to the opposition than Malik and Afridi combined.
In England we will need fast/medium pacers who can take advantage of the swinging ball conditions which again Hammad can do while malik or Afridi cant.
on Hammad....first we blamed (including me) afridi for not playing him as he was scared of him...
but then misbah also ignored him..
logical question is why?
but yes i agree that from what we have seen of him, he seems like a real prospect and shd be given chances but not by throwing shoaib out altogether....shoaib has finally shown signs of good form and closing matches for us.....that is a big deal playing second....we are pathetic pathetic chasers....so in spirit of planning for future, we shd replace malik with hammad but gradually....so that if hammad does not belong to the highest level, we still have malik till the world cup...
and why such a big statement abt haris? how do you know that? and yes i know u used the word probably but still...
i am absolutely in favor of giving him chances but why such a bullish statement abt someone who has not played any international match yet....genuinely curious

he plays at 6 or 7…his job is to finish matches…remember that 227 chase against south africa..misbah and imran played great but left us with still 55 odd runs in 9 overs…malik 30 odd runs in such situations are much much better than any 50 or 60 or 100..
remember that 227 chase against india? younis and nasir jamshed played great but we still needed to finish it.and malik has done that at least in 4 chases since Indian tour…and we won every time… now that is a BIG deal.
i am sure his average will be north of 35 in last 10 ODIs…not bad at all and I repeat, he is finishing matches for us…
but people like you are driven by their prejudices and not by logic…

and besides when did the last time he helped in chasing a target more than 250 runs yes he is only good at chasing small targets around180-200 runs when you are 6 down you need 40 runs from 70 balls he comes scores a 20 runs off 35 balls and people think he can finish off matches........Even in that match in India YK and Nasir put the match in our favour Malik just ate the halwa
What happened to him in the match where we were chasing 350 odd runs both Misbah and Malik failed But they both chased around 230 runs in the next match lol

that is what your problem is.....you just lie....40 runs were required from 70 balls? three matches that i mentioned above, go check the score equation...
and he scored 20 runs off 35 balls? go check his run rate in all 3 matches...it was close or higher than 100....go check it.

and yes I have seen enuf cricket to say that pakistan wud have lost all these matches w/o malik's contribution.

The limited-overs career of Younis Khan, the Pakistan batsman, hangs in the balance after he was left out of a 30-man squad for the Champions Trophy. The Pakistan board announced the pool of players unexpectedly early, and there had been speculation over Younis’ future after a poor one-day series in South Africa earlier this month.
Younis, 35, was among several Pakistan batsmen who floundered in the series which South Africa won 3-2. Younis collected 116 ODIs runs at 23.20 as Pakistan’s fragile batting struggled through much of the tour. He has had a difficult ODI run in recent years - his last century came as long back in 2008, and in four of the previous five years he has averaged less than 25.
