Captain of the year: Michael Vaughan :omg: he did not even played one game !!!

ASIF should be the “Emerging Player” of the year, if he is not then ICC should shut-da-fk-up!

and Inzi would be a better nominee than Vaughan any time
And my vote defintely for Asif as emerging player ...

Captain of the year, Jaywardene did good, but I am wondering what brought Rahul Dravid to this list? His team performance in WI, draw home series against PAK, ENG in the home conditions. ODI lost to every one including PAK, WI?
Are they talking of year 2005?

Umpire of the year = Hair, no one had more impact on cricket than him during this year.

Joker or Umpire of the Year = Hair. There are no other canidates for this award.

Captain would probably be Vaughan. He is not one of the best bats around but no denying the fact he is an excellent captain. England won the ashes because of the heroics of Flintoff and Pieterson etc but Vaughan's captaincy had a very big part to play as well.

Younis Khan pronbably has had a very good last season in test cricket but Ponting was miles ahead of everyone, ever since they lost the ashes it seems like he is out there to prove a point. I personally think Ponting should get the test player award but the impacy Mike Hussey has had on cricketing world can not be award, he might bag the crickters of the year award.

All the emerging players listed I think Asif deserves to be picked ahead of them all.

Along with Gibbs, Yuvraj I think also had a good season so he might have a chance as well but I think Gibbs would beat him out and others.

You have to understand..This award is given for performance in 2005-2006 season which ended on 30th June and all Bell's heroic came after that..I think Asif is clear leader in emerging player award. Other award have 2-3 serious contender.
