subsidi na den.. but don’t try to collect tax on petroleum prices. don’t take 17% tax on increased price. fix it to say Rs 10 per liter.. This will definitely lower the prices, if prices are increasing in international market. shair bane and try to broaden the tax net. but miyan sahib is still understanding the system (tajruba gaya tail bechne)

true, thats what they need to do but then it hurts their own business community as they put it, and the land lords, industrialists. i don’t know how it works as i’m not into economics but i guess it will not be that bad a deal for these industrialists if they widen the tax net and reduce oil/electricity prices, it will get adjusted to some extent, but for the agriculture land owners not so much, they have to face it.
