Re: Ibn-e-Safi

Welcome to CL&L forum DB.

Before, I go through the article, may I ask a question? :sid:

How Attaul Haq Qasmi’s son got surname Peerzada? :hmmm:

Re: Ibn-e-Safi

I think , Atta ke walid aur dada buht bre aalim-e-deen thae aur rohani khanwade se taluq rkhte h yh family , shyd is wjha se

Re: Ibn-e-Safi

Now I remember why one of friend said that his Bhabhi (from Peerzada family) is relative of Qasmi Saheb. They were probably gaddi Nasheen some where.

Now let me go through the article.

Re: Ibn-e-Safi

I hadn’t read Ibn e Safi, but first para of the article raised few questions in my mind:

  1. What is the difference between ‘ghatiya qism ke jasoosi novel’ and ‘aala paye ke jasoosi novel’?

  2. I think Ibn e Safi wrote in 1970s and 1980s, when suicide bombing was unknown phenomenon. Why writer of the article connected this with jasoosi novels written in those days? I don’t find any link. May be he is one addition to bash Mulla :bummer:

Re: Ibn-e-Safi

  1. ghatiya ishq bazi with a sexual touch sort of novels ...

  2. yasir buht zyada anti-taliban h so just a sarcastic tone ...

Re: Ibn-e-Safi

Ibn-e-Safii hamaare shahr Allahabad se the...mausoof kaa aabaaii ghar aaj bhii ek Muslim ilaaqe meN waaq'e hai jiskaa naam hai Rani Mandi...afsos yeh hai k is ghar kii Haalat Khastah hai aur sarkaar yaa kisii aur ne iskii sarparastii nahiiN kii.

he also studied at my alma mater, the Aligarh Muslim University.

Re: Ibn-e-Safi

anti taliban hone ka matlab ye thoRi hai ke ‘Mazhabi jasoosi’ jaise words use kare. Seems to me a twin brother of Paracha :hehe: Out of way ja kar bashing karni hai. He could easily have praised Ibn eSafi’s works without refering to suicide bombers (which were not present in 1970s and 1980s, when Ibn e Safi wrote).

Re: Ibn-e-Safi

Rani mandi? Just out of curiosity, how the area got this name?

Re: Ibn-e-Safi

i dunno the details but this is a predominantly a shia neighbourhood.

Re: Ibn-e-Safi

Now its clear why Peerzada has praised ibn-e-safi so much :hehe: and paracha?? you mean Nadeem F…

Re: Ibn-e-Safi

yes.. wohi NF Paracha.. jiska sleeveless Nusrat Bhutto aur naachti ladies wala Pakistan gum ho gaya hai

Re: Ibn-e-Safi

Interesting that he is popular in India and an Indian paper wrote about him on his anniversary

Re: Ibn-e-Safi

after all, he was a born Indian and besides literature knows no borders.

Re: Ibn-e-Safi

yes, but there are many other Indian born writers which are not that popular in India. Probably Mushtaq Ahmed Yusufi and Intizar Hussain are also not that popular in India as Ibn e Safi.

Re: Ibn-e-Safi

may be...i dunno but i think he started writing jaasoosii novels before he migrated to Pakistan. the publishers, Nikhat Publications, Allahabad, was publishing his work before the partition. i'm NOT sure though.

Re: Ibn-e-Safi

that may be the reason as writers who got published their works in United India (like Manto) are more famous in India then those Urdu writers who got their works published in Pakistan.
