Ibn e Batoota? Who?

Just come across this article suggested by a friend. The articles tells us about the weaknesses of history syllabus being taught to our new generations.

I remember a discussion that took place between me and a friend who was from the prestigious English Medium school, when I asked ‘who were Bani Isreal’. His reply was ‘:konfused: Shayad Saudi Arab ka ek qabeela hai, jo ke shayad Muslims hain’ :frowning:

Re: Ibn e Batoota? Who?

A and O level, you have american system of schooling??

even I would have had same grievances some years ago, but now our books are updated every year:k:

Re: Ibn e Batoota? Who?

We three-four systems of education. Matriculation / O-A level / Dars e Nizami and 3 mediums (English, Sindhi, Urdu).

Re: Ibn e Batoota? Who?

I am from Central Board even we have as many boards as number of states and regional language:), but we are primarily taught in British centric education. No central board??

Re: Ibn e Batoota? Who?

There is a Federal Board, but each Province has several Boards. In Sindh, we have Karachi Board, Hyderabad Board & Sukkur Board.

Board reminds me a joke. One of my cousin was in 8th class and we used to advise him for being serious in studies and told him 'Agle saal 9th main Board ke papers honge' and he said ' Matlab Board (Blackboard) pe likhna hoga'. :D

Re: Ibn e Batoota? Who?

Single state has three boards:eek: Uttar Pradesh has more population than Pakistan with just one board, looks like Pakistani students are very interested in studies

though half of India’s state boards follow same books as of central board:k:

Re: Ibn e Batoota? Who?

Yes one province has three boards, but they all use books of Sindh Text Board :). Pakistani students are very much interested in studies. Just see them buying guides and making booties during Exam period :teary2:
