Services Resource Requirements
Project Overview –
IBM will assist Ford Motor Company to migrate the Time and Work
Order System (TWOS) from HP3000 MPEix to either AIX or SUSE Linux.
The primary objective of the migration is to validate the TWOS
System runs in the target environment as it currently runs on the
HP3000 platform. Screen interfaces, proprietary application code
(Transact), data access including flat files and TurboImage
databases will be converted to successfully execute in the target
environment. The scope of services is broadly categorized as
follows:
• Project Initiation (Planning and Project Ramp-Up)
• Create Target Migration Environment
• Migration of TWOS code
• Security Enhancements
• Replacement of TWOS System
• QA, System Testing, Debugging and Fixing (Test/Break/Fix)
• Staged Production Deployment
Technical Lead 100%
To work in Dearborn, MI
The Technical Lead is a Senior Migration Engineer whose primary
responsibility is the technical migration and management of
engineering resources. The Technical Lead will have the following
skills/duties:
Experience in complex migration projects
HP3000 MPE/MPEix expertise
HP TurboImage Database expertise
Familiarity with 3GL/4GL Application Migration preferably Transact
on MPE/MPEix
COBOL expertise
Oracle 9i database expertise
AIX, SUSE Linux expertise
Experience in the use of migration tools to perform application
migrations
Familiarity with HP3000 Intrinsics such as
o VPlus User Interface
o JDL/UDC Command Language
o Batch, Print, Network Protocols
o File Structure
Experience in managing sub-contractors
Experience in Auto Deployment products such as Rational Clear Case
Experience in Database/Data replication
Testing & Deployment experience
Experience in Project Reporting to aid with Ford Project Reporting
requirements
Technical Expert
The Technical Expert will be the IBM Subject Matter Expert on the
Ford TWOS Rehosting project for HP3000 MPE/MPEix migration to Unix.
The Technical Expert will have expertise in:
Complex migration from HP3000 MPE/MPEix to AIX or SUSE Linux
HP3000 MPE/MPEix, AIX, SUSE Linux
TurboImage databases, flat files and SQL Access on MPE/MPEix and
conversion from
Oracle 9i databases and conversion to
3GL/4GL Programming Languages preferably Transact on MPE/MPEix
MPE/MPEix Intrinsics such as:
o VPlus User Interface
o JDL, UDC Command Language
o Print, Batch
o ILOCK
o File Systems
o MPE CI SHELL
o Interfaces to Terminal Emulators, Printers and other I/O
Devices
Migration tools to convert application/databases
Database/Data Migration/Replication
