What do you ppl think about these two (and probably the only two) top notch business schools in pakistan when compared together or not.
Post your views on any of them or both?

Saby, I would vouch for LUMS
my sincere advice,
go for IBA,
coz its in the middle of the biggest industry of pakistan..
you know, karachi give 65 of the total revenue of Pakistan..
so this means that the main industry is here,
you can work in many fields… while doing your MBA dear,
waissay LUMS aint bad either, but as I know, go for IBA,
waissay what happened to KFUPM plans 
its not for me CB yaar, KFUPM plans still on 
they both might offer the same type/level of education in way or the other. however, lums enjoys a very good reputation and its degree has a very good market value, compared to iba. one of the reasons why most of the employers seek lums graduates is not only cause' of their academic skills but non-academic skills too.
lums also has an affiliation with mcgill and they have the visiting faculty(from abroad) thing too.
and i think lums is a lot more expensive than iba which perhaps could be the only turn off for some.
depends on which city you'd wanna live in for two years... they are both fine institutions.. and LUMS has every bit of 'industry clout' as IBA even if it's not in Karachi..
LUMS is definitely better specially if u plan to work ina good company or even abroad!I am sure about this cuz my friend was on the faculty working with the people from McGill at LUMS and she said their courses were better than IBA but that does not make IBA bad,its just that LUMS is continously improving,if there is anything else u want to know directly froma person there PM me and i will give u my friend's email.

^ well i hope you realize that for nok jhonk and jokes we have seprate forums here But this is a seriuos forum and some ppl ask questions in order to get some consensus from other ppl.
One thing worth noting... Alot of LUMS graduate students in the recent two years were rejected US visas for grad schools, such as Carnegie Mellon... does anyone else have any insights to this?

do you mean that CMU did not admit them or did the US Embassy reject their visa application even though they got into CMU?

well yes i have heard about this, it was i think the case with most pakistani students coz of obviuos strict US policies, one of my friend who graduated from GIK was told to apply next semster for visa nu us embassy. even though he rcvd his I20 form and applied for visa
