I you guys were pissed of about the Danish cartoons then...

You really should know that other people have insulted the prophet besides the danes..
South Park for example did an episode where the Prophet was a super hero..
And just recently a web site called Zipperfish.com not only showed the cartoons but went even farther by directly insulting the prophet..
So how is that Muslims can be up in arms ovr the Danes and not have any cllue about the others.. Particularly South Park which showed the Prophet cartoon over two years ago…
If you guy want a link to the Zipper.com file, let me know, but its really gonna piss you off… Worse then the danish cartoon.

Re: I you guys were pissed of about the Danish cartoons then...

The reason the Danish cartoons were particularly offensive was that the newspaper they were printed in is a popular, respected, mainstream newspaper...If they were printed in in a trashy paper in the backwaters of Louisiana, no one would have even bothered...

As for the zippperfish.com thing, it only needs hits on its website, so to provoke people into coming to their website, they put up something like that...

And of course, Muslims like yourself, advertise sites like those by which it gets hundreds of thousands of hits from curious but not very well-informed Muslims...

No thanks...I'll pass on the zipperfish thing...

In fact, deliberately trying to promote, advertise or spread these cartoons or caricatures is like doing the same about one's own parents...Would anyone like cartoons of their parents floating around the web?

So screw zipperfish...I wouldn't even piss on those sites or their webmasters...My urine is more precious than that...

Re: I you guys were pissed of about the Danish cartoons then...

Lajjo Jee,
How many people even know the name of that Danish newspaper? How many even knew whether there was a place called Denmark? How many people know that the offending newspaper has a total circulation of 800,000 (Sat-Sun) peak period? How many people know that nobody even knew about this paper or its cartoons until they were exposed to mass hysteria by offended Muslim sensibilities?

I totally agree with you, there are websites, publications, propagandist who would like to promote these offensive cartoons. Then again, what do u say about those Muslim states, entities, parties and individuals who have made this shameful event into a international spectacle? Like u rightly said, why even waste your piss on these websites, then why do Muslims promote these cartoons which had an audience of no more than 800,000 Danish pastries?

Re: I you guys were pissed of about the Danish cartoons then...

Actually i heard on NPR that the newspaper was a not so popular backwater one. Not mainstream.

PakPatriot1's question still stands.

Re: I you guys were pissed of about the Danish cartoons then...

Blogs have a potential circulation far more than any newspaper. Unlike newspapers, blogs cannot be effectively blocked by even the Islamic world. The sheer number is too many. Are Muslims going to "protest" every time a blog publishes something Muslims consider blasphemous?

Re: I you guys were pissed of about the Danish cartoons then...

You are assuming that the underlying issue was the cartoon...they use the term " a straw that broke the camels back" for a reason..

Re: I you guys were pissed of about the Danish cartoons then...

It was never about the cartoons or depictions of Mohammed. It was a political move by radical Islamist clerics in Europe to flex their muscles. It was a way for Syria and Iran to shift the focus from their own actions, in the case of Syria against Muslisms.

Re: I you guys were pissed of about the Danish cartoons then...

^ Not really it was about a growing feeling of anger and powerlessness, at almost constant humiliations..it may have been exploited by local groups to further political advantage but the anger was genuiane..I've dealt indirectly with 2 cases linked to issues of insulting the Prophet (pbuh)..the reality is Muslims have shown remarkable restraint post 9-11 considering some of the Islamophobic comments and policies..emanating from the West

Re: I you guys were pissed of about the Danish cartoons then...

Dear Zakk,
Thou speaketh the truth....Agreed with this rejoinder: Cartoon controversy was exploited by some of the wiser Muslim regimes to let off some steam. Muslim sentiment has been boiling for quite sometime, regimes knowing they have not taken any moral stands when required, needed an excuse to make themselves appear Islamic by identifying the enemy.

You seldom make your presence felt on GS, that is sad, we need saner elements like yourself to keep this world civilized.....
