Then one should avoid him too. Because for non muslim we can say ok he is non muslim and may be he dosent know Allah’s law but muslim gay is more sinister because he knows the law given in Quran and hadith but still insists to remain gay.It means he is rejecting Allah and his Prophet pbuh.

So same goes with the people who break other laws laid out in quran. people who drink alcohol, have girlfriends, cheaters, people who take bribes, people who lie etc should be avoided too.

Btw, why would anyone wanted to be gay? And, that is especially true for countries where gays are persecuted, and even executed like in Iran.

Being a genetic disorder does it mean that we should not try to treat or cure it.

According to this cancer is a genetic disorder too, but we have lots of research going on to treat that disease.

And when it comes to wanting to be gay it is more about the “nufs” … when a person indulges in their traits then those traits become increased in them. People will hide and do these things to satisfy an inner ‘need’ that they themselves have allowed to flourish by succumbing and submitting to it.

I totally agree with you. Just a reminder from the Quran on how Allah (swt) judge them (the people of Prophet Loot a.s):

The duty is of the government to carry out punishments but we can at least learn how much the Prophet (saw) disliked this act and avoided the company of such people.

We don’t want to be with those on whom there is a curse of Allah (SwT). You may warn them about the divine punishments but how can you have an excuse of their friendship when our Prophet (saw) neither made friendship with them nor encouraged us to enjoin their company. The far we remain from fire, the more we would be protected from its spark that might fall in our lap, if we remain close to it.

It simply abstinence … What would I tell a murder inclined person, or an adultery inclined person … abstain! It doesn’t matter if there is not a ‘cure’ for it … Is there a cure for every form of cancer?

Personally I don’t believe it needs to be cured … however the urge to engage in the act needs to be tempered or else it will lead to the act. So at least these people will need to be taught how to control their urges - i.e. prayer, dhikr, etc and good company - for gays to dwell with gays or for heterosexuals to dwell with them in their society will make it acceptable and the act will become inevitable for the homosexually inclined.

Look at it like this … homosexual people are different to homosexually inclined … People who are adamant in doing the act are rebellious against Allah (SWT) … So how can we be friends with those who rebel against Allah (SWT)?

We can associate with them in very careful situations such as if they are in our company as guests then we treat them with respect and compassion, but we should not go their functions knowing that there will be a majority of like people around them. Those who are merely inclined to same sex yet abstain and are Muslim are brothers and sisters in the Deen.

^^ My question was in the context mentioned by another poster who suggested to treat a homosexual like a non muslim and then he reminded that allah asked muslims to not to be good friends with non muslim. i am guessing that he was assuming a homosexual as non muslim.

personally for me it is more like a social issue than a religious issue.

I would treat a non-muslim homosexual and a muslim homosexual both differently because muslim homosexual IMO is also a hypocrite and same goes for other muslims who indulge in big sins (alcohol, adultery etc) and then admit it openly without any guilt.
