Re: I want to lose belly fat

Do you have an accessible treadmill? If so, try this:

Alternate between two speeds -- one that is fast and one that is manageable for you. You do 3 minutes of the manageable speed and three minutes of the fast speed and so on. This is a fat burning exercise, and the first part of your body to lose fat is usually your belly :)

Be wary though, you have to pair regular exercise with healthy eating habits in order to get the results you desire. Best of luck girl :)

Re: I want to lose belly fat

I want to lose belly fat

Ditto. :(

Re: I want to lose belly fat

fat loss pattern depends on your genetics. if you are lucky your tummy will be the first place to shrink, but given the number of skinny desis with pot bellies, this isn't very realistic.

lose weight via cardio, keep your metabolism up with enough weight training, eat healthy. skipping carbs etc is utter nonsense. your body runs on carbs. if you want to keep working out on a daily basis, you will need to fuel up, and that'll mean plenty of healthy carbs.

Re: I want to lose belly fat

queer, you sound like my hubby but for desi women, trust me they need to cut out processed carbs and cut down on carbs in general, in addition to regular exercise.

and i'm sure you already know that the preggo tummy on a young desi is a sign of pre-diabetes.

Re: I want to lose belly fat

Queerio nice to see you back here. Yes, what he said. You can't CUT carbs guys.

Edit: Yes, stoppit you are right that processed carbs need to be cut and overall carb servings should be reduced if carb intake is high. What queer is saying don't cut out carbs completely and substitute with carbs higher in fibre etc.

Re: I want to lose belly fat

I agree that a healhty lifestyle includes carbs but I highly doubt the "white" kinds like pasta, white bread, have any place in a healthy diet/lifestyle.

But I don't think its total nonsense, even diabetics--who have to be strict about the amt of carbs they eat--cannot eat unlimited amount of fruits, many "detox/cleansing programs, also advocate cutting out ALL carbs (including fruits) but only for a limited time.

shut up sara

Re: I want to lose belly fat

The problem with cutting ALL carbs is that it's not a realistic way of sustaining the flatter tummy. When you go back to carbs which includes fruit and dairy as well - the protruding tummy starts coming back.

Along with cardio, eating right, ab and core strength training if you need a little help with the tummy area - there are non/less invasive procedures like smart lipo, or laser lipo that are becoming popular with targeted areas for fat disposal.

Some people say it worked miracles - some think it's a hoax.

Re: I want to lose belly fat

Your doubt is indeed correct. White aka processed carbs are not part of a healthy lifestyle but whole grains are. The body needs carbs to function at its best.

Ofcourse those with diabetes can't have an unlimited amount of any foods that have carbs. That is what diabetes is - inablity to control blood sugar hence can't have unlimited carb containing foods. A healthy individual on the other hand can have plenty of fruits and veggies. Thats what a healthy lifestyle is - which can be realistically maintained.

Sara you have to realize these programs are not based on scientific studies so you can't assume that's the right/healthy way to go about things.

Re: I want to lose belly fat

Sup CDG..now i don't want to sound like gym mullah but do ya practice what ya said???

BTW yo..cut down the desi food. Don't have too much roti salan. At least this is what i do. I keep it balance.

Re: I want to lose belly fat

All I have to say is come take a look at my degree. :chai:

You do realize you agreed with me but still questioned me. " I keep it balance."

Re: I want to lose belly fat

Awesome..so…when are you showing me ya’re degree???:biggthumb:

Re: I want to lose belly fat

ain’t happening…you’ll have to take my word for it…if not then meh. On a serious note though - what exactly were you referring to when you asked if I practice what I said?

Re: I want to lose belly fat

Get a complete physical done just to rule out any health issues. Other than that practice portion control, eat healthy and establish a workout routine. Equation is very simple and does give results as long as you stick to it. People don't lose weight or gain it all back, when they only practice healthy habits for a short period. You have to stick to a routine, there is no way you will NOT lose weight unless ofcourse there is a medical reason getting in the way.
