i recently have seen cooking is a great art. but i guess desi households just take it is another chore. my mama do give attention to designing aspect
so what should i learn first?
p.s. so far i just know rice, roti maps, pizza, pasta and roast ( i tried all these when my mama wasnt at home :D, and tried on sibz …but amazingly they liked it)
i wana go to some professional skool to learn it professionally. but before that i wana ask you ppl what are the important things, techniques (for cutting, sauté), totkay that you enable to extract it during this journey of cooking? or any other suggestion(s) will be great.
I've found that even the most complex of recipes just needs attention and ability to follow detail and instruction...I've made the most amazing things just by sticking to the recipe....German Sauerbraten with all the trimmings, Italian Lasagna, Turkey dinner with numerous sides, desi cooking. Whatever cuisine you're interested in, get a good recipe/cookbook and stick to the recipes following all the details closely and you wont go wrong. Enjoy!
practice and some more practice....as this makes perfect....!
I am not saying that professional cooking schools are not worth it...but i learned it by practice and observing my mother and then mother in law....and i think i do pretty good now....!...:)
so u might want to spend some time with ur mother when she is in the kitchen....
When I left home I didnt have the faintest idea how too cook!!! I just hadn't had the time when I was home to learn from mum. Then at Uni we just made simple stuff and heated stuff mum had made and frozen for me and my friend!
Then I perfected most of the more complicated dishes/made up my own....and only recently did I perfect simple more traditional dishes like Kuri Khitchri and daal chawal...and as for Roti.....well I have started making them everyday almost for about 6 weeks and am now almost an expert (In that now they aren't like cardboard cutouts of the world map!!!)
It just takes a lot of patience. perseverance and a passion for what you are doing.
Now it doesn't faze me to cook for upto even 30 people for dawats!!
