Aww. My friend had her first baby after 3-4 years of marriage, so in the meantime she used to treat her beautiful and all so cute kittens and bunnies as her little babies. They kept her busy.

Btw, how many kids do you already have?

go for it.. if you are ready for it and can handle 4 kids… why not? its good to balance life out… i plan on either 2 or 4.. no odd numbered kids for me :snooty:

^lol. No, I won't be able to handle another child and I'm not fit physically either but I love love new born babies.

know what my mom does cuz she loves babies so much but ofcourse wouldnt want another one of her own?

she volunteers at creche… day care.. its only for babies upto the age of 1 :smiley: she LOVES it…

2nd option would be to become a midwife. not the kind that delivers babies.. the one that looks after them once they are out. probalby has proper name to it.. but im translating directly from danish to english. :hoonh:

awwwwwww so sweet. my baby is almost 6mnths and i strted dreaming abt a newborn when she turned 1-2 months. i missed havin her in my tummy most of all.. i missed the kicks and the euphoria associated with being preg... but my baby is colic even now and there are so many times i kick myself that why the hell r u thinkin of another baby when this baby is givin u such an impossible time!

I asked how to stop the urge of having another baby not how to make another baby.

I still miss the bump. 6 months olds are so cute, has she got any tooth coming out yet?

I like the childcare suggestion apart from the hassel of getting certificates and stuff.

who says you have to go to a proper daycare centre?

find out if there are any new moms in your area that needs their babies taken care of.. can have them drop them off at your place. the fact that you have 3 kids and have been quite good at keeping them alive is enough reason fr them to feel ok bout leaving their babies with you.. ok that has gotta be the dumbest conclusion ever but you get the gist of it :D

my aunt used to do it in canada... had 3 babies to take care of.. and they were all white.. not even desi (only saying this cuz usually you think desis are ok with leaving their kids with any tom or dick and not white ppl... not so i guess. ) .. these women knew her from the neighborhood and felt ok bout her taking care of their babies... gosh the babies she had were SO cute... now that they have grown up (the youngest is 10), they stil visit my aunt on weekends sometimes.. just to see her .. its really touching

I am also having those feelings of having one of my own. I even had a dream last night of my baby and have been browsing this forum all week, reading birth stories and all the concerns new mommies are having. Ugh, But its not the right time, I need to finish school first but I can't stop the feeling of it. Plus my hubby loves kids and seeing his craze for kids makes me really want to have one of our own. Inshallah, after a year.

I can't really suggest much, and I don't think babysitting others kid will help me, it just increases the feeling of having one. I don't if its something related to hormones or my biological clock is going off.

Don't fret too much, my daughter got her first tooth when she was 11 months .... which is pretty late according to desi standards. It was so easy though, she didn't get sick or suffer any pain, the teeth came out aaraam sai... such a relief.

Simply remind yourself of all the yukky diaper changes, potty training, feeding issues and horrendous nights being awake at all hours of the night.....you will lose the new baby desire immediately :)

sigh... for ppl like me even these excuses wudnt work. the diaper issues and feeding ones are ok.. i have a colic baby and a high maintenance baby so double the trouble for me but i still feel like havin a baby. i m impractical and immature, yes!!!! stupid me! my baby is so demandin she wants someone to talk to her ALL the freaking time!!!!!! shes one of those who mite shut up when u talk to them sing to them and all. dun say its sweet..... cus if i ask u to do this all the time she cries, u will go insannnnnnnnneeeeeeee

LOL....I know I know as I said my health won't allow another baby either, infact it can be pretty dangerous for me coz of complications in previous birth. But yes, it's very difficult to handle a baby specially when he/she becomes a toddler, that's why I prefer babysitting new borns.

awwww....may be you should try in 6 months time inshallah.

About the tooth, well it's different in different babies, some are born with a tooth and some don't grow it until the age of 1.

thx hareem and MIV lets see when she grows her tooth. so far she only likes to chomp down on her fingers and all. and lately she sometimes has strted chomping on my breast while feeding. but then again she like eating fingers since 3 mnths!
