Do finance or Management. You can hire enough engineers, coders, accountants out there. It is important to know, how to make them click. Give an engineer a rubick's cube for bonus and he will be your slave for a millenium. HA!
Yup. Finance and Management is what I recommended too. I think they equip you with the right kinda tools to go into a mid-to-senior-level position in the organization with relative ease. From there on, its more your abilities and networking.
^ That maybe..but when I said it made a whole lotta more sense. :p

Yeah yeah.. blame it on the industry ![]()
blame what? are there no accountants out there who are not CPAs? many, are they good sure, but they have to get the certification.
so could someone learn accounting by reading a book, sure as heck. Does one need an accountign degfree to be able to do accounting work, not all the time. but the higher a person goes up the CPA designation becomes needed, for which coursework in accounting is required innit.
so no blame on the industry, but just to indicate why that does not apply to a profession.
Anyway, which of the following two words you don’t understand: “personal” “bias”?
oh I do understand that it is your personal bias. I wanted to present a more accurate picture to Sheraz as well as others who may read this.
**Never claimed to be an expert. Not in MBA anyway. Are you? **
Am I an expert, no. But I try to keep my personal bias out when discussing the merits of any field.
Sheraz, I will still stand by my previous point. although a focus in finance and mgmt will give you a broad base which could be easily transferred from one company to another and one industry to another. Dont use that as the only basis, factor your interests, career goals and strengths as well.
thanks guys for the replies
