Sorry had to vent. I am getting annoyed with us amreekans not being able to watch a variety of new channels that our friends across the atlantic have easy access to. When will we be so lucky ???

Whatever made you think we don't pay for our cable?
I'm opting to not install any of the Pakistani channels in my new home, as surprising as that is. I just have lost total interest in them. There are some shows I still like to watch, like Loose Talk and Ghaffar's at Dorajee, and some other shows. And I have begun to really get into the cooking shows. But honestly, its just a lot of money, and they don't really have a discounted Pakistani channels package here. Plus it forces me to get a dish, which honestly, I don't think will survive the storms out here.
So, nah, I'll stick to American cable. Which will be PAID for.

well in Uk we only pay for ARY, prime tv is **** so dnt bother that and geo, the musik, one world, dm are all free.

Geo is free to air in UK and has been for the past year or so.

I got rid of Prime shortly after GEO’s launch in UK, ur right it was exactly what you have sensored in your post. 
Recentlly, I noticed some good ARY programmes on freeview e.g. minglish, Karachi high, Breakfast with Nadia.
Don’t even make me comment on DM. Even Venus is doing better than DM.

If you can receive transmission from Astra 2 Satellite anywhere in the world (i am not sure if you can catch this satellite in North america), then you can watch the followong channels for free:
