Demanding a maid from your husband is your right only when you were raised in a household with a maid. If your husband cannot afford it then you have a right to take khula.
This is what the opinion of the scholars and hanafi school so I’m not making it up.

I'm not saying getting a maid is wrong, lekin jub tak ur physically able to do the household work yourself, why put it on someone else's shoulders??

Honestly it's not too expensive to get a maid in the US. Most of the people I know have maids to vacuum, dust, clean the bathrooms, mop etc. In fact my MIL's maid even does their laundry and irons their clothes! So you can definitely have a maid in the US. It's not a luxury only afforded by the super-rich! I think most charge around 75-100 bucks per week.

Ijust want a maid to do the dishes THATS IT. I will do all chores* gladly by yself with NO help...but not the dishes.
*I do those chores every coupla weeks.

A hubby can never cheat on his wife with paper plates. On the pother hand, a young Mexican maid can cause some serious problems in a desi household.
