I like Jazzy Biindi in green street for costume jewellery as they'll make you something to match your outfit perfectly.

Has anyone ever tried using big desified earrings as a tikka? I have heard loads of girls do it but how does it stay in place?

Yeahhh, the only problem is if you want it to lay flat on your forehead and be comfortable you have to snap off/bend the back of the earring (I mean the pin thing that goes through the ear...?). You normally have to use longer earrings so you can secure the top of it in your hair with bobby pins and then use either a strong eyelash glue or a weak nail glue on the forehead to keep it in place.

Thanks kp! Yeah I tried bending it once, but the metal bit (that goes in the ear) just snapped off. I would recommend only trying this with old earrings. x

Something a bit different..

Thought this was interesting as blondes often look rubbish in desi style jewellery (and clothing).. Am thinking of getting the lady who made this (think it might be her in the pic as well, not too sure) to make me one with the same colours but in a more traditional shape..

Can anyone suggest a nice simple design to show her to copy?
