I am already sick and tired of freelancing within the first month of doing it, it sucks especially if one’s on the lower end of the corporate ladder. One day I am working and then I don’t work for two weeks. so basically its like being unemployed. Why is it so difficult to get a proper and stable job in the Uk… whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?

don't you guys have agencies down there, I guess that should be ur first step in searching for a job. And we have so many UK guppies here you should be in contact with them, I am sure they will guide you. As I am not in UK am not aware of any laws of that country. Other thing should be posting ur resume up on the different sites, and mention that you don't need a contract job, you want permenant position.

PD we have agencies here, i am registered with loadsbut soem people just don't have it easy. I have been in the Uk for almost a year now and have been spending my father's money so far, just did a really ****ty job for two months and I had to travel outside London everyday and that made it a 15 hours day rather thn 8 hours, and no its difficult to expect help from anyone in the UK. don't ask how many CV's I have wasted and the number is in hundreds and have got a few horror stories as well.

Mywish hang in there sweety, its not easy to get a job anywhere. But I will suggest keep ur sanity and soon inshAllah u will be blessed. I have been there, I know what you are going through and its not an easy time for you. Network with ppl, what is ur major in though, if you don’t mind me asking that. If you are not a native to that country or haven’t been there for more than an yr it will be though for you. However, don’t lose ur hope

Thankyou PD, netwroking is a word that Is taking totally differently in the Uk , the Brit Pakistaniz are pretty different from what I have seen of those in the Uk and Canada, networking here emans that people would think that you are trying to suck up to them regardless of whatever talent or qualification you possess. And as to hanging on tight I have been trying for a year now . Yes I am a student here and looking for part-time work only. its so frustrating, and even more because of all the idiots I have met so far.. ohhhh the horror of it.

ansoon, i write part-time. Back in Pakistan I used to be a proposal writer/solutions architect but apparently its not very useful here.

Getting a job in UK is kinda piece of cake, only if u have a UK experience (or at least European Experience). Otherwise it can be pain. Once u get your first proper job, like anywhere else, the doors will open. So be consistent and one day u will be able to get ur dream job. If you are not from UK, moving to live in UK is kinda "not so good" decision.
