I voted for Bush

…and now I really regret it. It really sucks having a President that so thoroughly misrepresents you, and then having the misery of knowing that your vote helped put him into office. And now, no matter how much I join in protest I can’t stop what has been started. All that I can do now is pray that Bush does the right thing and gives the UN and the indigenous Iraqi people the riegns of the Iraqi government and it’s future.

I got a question:

Is the UN really relevant? And I don’t mean this in the fashion that Bush does. I mean more along the lines of should the UN be relevant. If we are to seek a peaceful world government NO nation should have power over another. The power of veto gives nations that power. The nations that are in the UN Security Council and have the power of veto basically rule the world. Shouldn’t that power belong to all nations and people? Yes! And, that is why the UN is relevant. Because if we could get a resolution passed that gave all nations the power of veto, in essence a direct vote. Than we could be one step closer to a peace with some real substance. That is what we should be fighting for.

Nope,... If UN passes a resolution then it is its job to enforce it if it cannot enforce it then it shouldn't exist. Its revelancy will diminish as more and more states become mighty.... Welcome to the new world oder.

Priest my friend whether Bush Jnr wins this war or not is no guarantee that he will re-election in 2004. After all his father lost badly in 1992 just a year after he won the first Gulf war and had ratings of 92%. Many people in the UK (not myself though) had the same hopes for Blair when he was elected PM in 1997 after 18 years of Conservative/Tory rule, and most of those people now despise him because of his support for the war. The same is the case in Spain where PM Aznar is in deep trouble for going against the wishes of 91% of his people, and is likely to lose the lection to the opposition next year.
