I think we're at war!

Its a free world. You can hangout with hanumaan for all i care.

and

FYI, north also includes, punjab, kashmir and northern areas

Re: I think we're at war!

i am punjabi. when i say north, i mean the folk from nwfp. they love islam too much for my liking. moderate dude!

The solution lies in cutting supply lines of militants from Afghanistan i.e. seal the darn border. Its not like all FATA people want to separate from Pakistan. There are separatists in Indian occupied Kashmir and many other states, do you think India would want to quit those areas? FATA people want to be with Pakistan but there are infiltrated miscreants plus some people from FATA causing the trouble. You don’t go punish the whole FATA. In case you are not following news tribals are rising against Taliban/militants, it might take time longer than our liking but we’ll get there and cleanse out militants :insh:

Actually, if majority of a province or even district would like to go their own way, I would support that. But saying that, I would first try to find out why anyone would like to go their own way? I believe all Pakistanis are equal and thus should be treated equally, regardless of their province, religion, colour, culture or creed. They should also feel that they are equal and are treated equally in Pakistan. If there is any grievance of people from any part of Pakistan, we should all sit together, talk about it as if it is our own grievance, and solve that out. But grievances should not be about what some wants others to do but it should be what one wants to do or needs in their own life. No Pakistani should believe that they are special and all Pakistanis should believe on letting other live the way others would like to live. I think that if grievances would get sorted out, all Pakistanis would stay united and one. There should be no talk of Sindh, Punjab, Sarhad, Baluchistan or Azad Kashmir, as different entity.

As for retarded cult fighting Pakistani forces, large number of these type of people maybe from FATA and NWFP, but in reality, they exists all over Pakistan in all ethnicity, and our war is with them all over Pakistan, not just NWFP or FATA (though war is more concentrated in FATA because concentration of these people are there). So, when we talk about this war, we should never talk about any particular ethnicity but should concentrate on problematic people who are from all ethnicity. We are fighting them because they are fighting us. They have no grievances of their own but their grievance are regarding controlling the lives and believes of others and imposing their cult religion over others by force. They also want to use Pakistani soil to spread their religious cult, with fitna and fisad, to other parts of the world.

^ well sadly pakistan has a long history of neglecting these people so you can hardly be surprised when this unbalance distribution of resources manifests itself in the people being hijacked by radicals. Pakistan needs to make amends. This stupid imported war is doing us more damage than good. And i am about sick of people yelling Pakistan is a gone case. Well if majority of those people would be nice enough to remove themselves from our society they would be doing us a favour.

googly u have a an agenda and that reflects from your post. Being moderate is something else from some of your posts that i remember you were hardly even calling yourself a muslim. So although u r from punjab a "rabid" muslim would be more important to majority of pakistanis here than such as yourself who is just dying to converge with india. Since you said yourself you enjoy their company what is stopping you from making the move and letting us poor folks deal with our affairs.

Why have we established that the this war is against pushtuns? or any other province? The fanatics we are at war with come from punjab, sindh, balochistan, kashmir and nwfp alike. I wont be surprised if most suicide bombers come from punjab.

However, the hub is in Fata which needs to be cleaned up. After fata there will be areas of punjab and other provinces that also need similar cleanups and we should be for it too. The people we are at war with want a taleban style govt in pakistan and will do everything to de-stablize Pakistan. Its a war against a mindset not a particular province. If you disagree then you are on the wrong side of the fence or dont understand the problem.

this is legbreakgoogly after hanging out with his hindu pals in indian punjab.

Read my 4500 posts, if anyone is more pro Pakistan, more committed to Pakistani unity then me...I'd like to talk to him.

My stance is clear to all GS regulars.

Sorry chief, you have been exposed. My family comes from the "North" as you call it and its probably more liberal than you would believe. While I am personally much more conservative than most Pakistanis, but I am not here to hate.

So go hang out with laid back hindus/sikhs have a glass or two, dance to your favorite bhangra beat but don't come here and tell us that Pakistan is headed towards breakup.

My family is originally from FATA alright. If people like you think that everyone is uneducated and hates Pakistan is completely incorrect. yes, we do hate the spineless beghairats who allowing Pakistani territory to be violated by Amrikis and terrorists.

Besides what have YOU done for Pakistan? This is not an insult but a challenge for you to step up and say that "yes Pakistan has its problems but we (Muslims, NonMuslims) will work towards a better nation."

I guess I would probably fall under your "rabid" category Muslim but truth be told Pakistan is nothing without Islam. Under Islam, a Pakistani Punjabi is as much of a brother as Pakhtun. So Pakistan is an abode of Islam for South Asia. Before someone tries to be smart and bring up Bangladesh, need I remind you that they separated on ethnic basis not religion..Things have turned out so great for them right? Lets ask Indians that question.

Re: I think we're at war!

I have been exposed as a patriot who puts Pakistan first, before religious idealism/fanaticism. I have been exposed as a patriot who yearns for a unified and successful Pakistan...that I accept gladly.

As for what I do for the nation...I spend my every waking moment defending her in intellectual forums, or in class rooms, or in seminars, or whilst writing term papers that present her and her people in a positive light. I play my part for Pakistan, and if I have convinced even one person that the media image of Pakistan is incorrect, thru my own actions, then I am happy.

Pakistani does not have to mean brain washed radical, it can mean open minded secular progressive. Why cant you accept that!

Re: I think we're at war!

I accept all Pakistanis as brothers so long as they are peaceful and progressive. Those who wreck havoc on it, and have rendered it an international 'no-go' zone, those I cant like, or pretend to care for.

Good, this is not a forum for hate. I can't accept a "secular progressive" nation as much as I can't accepted a brain washed one. Pakistan is an Islamic nation whose existence is based on the very that we were created as a home for South Asian Muslims. I don't want to "give up" on any part of the country or call for its division. So if your a patriot you should keep that in mind.

That is fair enough. So why are your running away from their challenge to rip the nation apart?

Re: I think we're at war!

oh googly spare us the dramatics, i see a line of regulars who are defending you and your nobility.

Re: I think we're at war!

I know the essence of the truth within me.

^ :rotfl: googly that is gigantically profound coming from you.* essence of truth* tosh!

Leg freakin break i don't know what you smoke with your HIndu/Sikh bretheren and your lifestyle is your lifestyle.

but the comment about hanging out with hindus/sikhs vs other Pakistani's is pretty fruitcake like comment. What do Pakistani's have in common with sikhs and hindus? The stupid indian movies? The shirkiah stuff in Islam? Their life style, their way of life is totally opposite of a normal Pakistani. I chose my bretheren from Pakistan any freakin day of the week. I choose my African muslim brothers the over the Indians.

If any part of Pakistan ever became a part of India it should be hella shameful. Pakistan has given identity to muslims in the area and has joined everyone. Pakistan's problems is not the different people living in Pakistan. Its the damn leaders who have sold out Pakistan at every step. Pakistan problems are that they can't stand up to their goray masters.

I agree, thats why I didnt say such a thing. Please quote the man accurately, and in context. I said rather "laid back" Hindus then "Rabid" Muslims. That makes it a conditional statement. Ie if both people are 'normies'-then my tendency is to associate with Pakistanis or Muslims, as we have more in common.

BUT, if one is a fanatic who preaches to me, and the other is a irreligious guy of non Muslim stock, why thats a different matter.

Quote the man properly if you are to quote me at all.

Re: I think we’re at war!

All of you who can read urdu… its a good read, … try to understand the point and no more Hamid Mir Bashing.

On the other hand.. we really need to understand the motives behind every action thats happening over the past few years in Pakistan, specially, the smaller provinces, Sindh, Balochistan and NWFP. First Karachi and Sindh were literally destroyed in the late 80’s and then 90’s, Still Pakistan stand still and kept on going. Since the desired results were not reached, the game started in Balochistan and now its in NWFP as well. What seems is that its very severe now. and really one can guess that Pakistan is on the verge of another dis-integration.

I m very sure that many Pakistani Politicians alongwith many NGO’s are directly working with Foreign Govts and Agencies over these kind of plans.

Re: I think we're at war!

^ is it an attempt to absolve Baitullah Mehsus of any crimes/threats against Pakistan?

No, it isnt,,, off course Mahsud is against the government and is wasting no chance to attack on them. But I dont think that he attacked BB or he will be involved in attacking CTBT brothers.

On the other hand, the reason for that article was to understand the bigger problem Pakistan is facing. Dont you get amazed by statements of some Politicians and work of NGOs in Pakistan.
