Re: I think we need to address this issue
If their remarks are anti-state/Anti-Religion/Anti-Pakistan, it is against the policy, and the post(s) should be reported promptly. They will be taken care of.
If it is opinions, then you have to allow people their opinions which may not necessarily be on agreement with others. Thus is the nature of discussion and debate, and that you are factually and historically trying to prove your point and the other person is trying to prove theirs.

I am sorry I didn't want to waste too much of you time. But this was too much.
Help me understand this, If I say parts of karachi should attacked by india for so and so reasons. And its ok for innicent ppl to die in karachi since they were not able to take care of a terroist declared organization.
And this is my opinion about ppl in these areas other wise i love the city.
So would this kind of statement stay ?
I am realy sick of reading heartless comments from my fellow pakistanis, if it were from indians we could to see things in a non amreekan/cnn way.
But what we do to ppl who know every but cannot contain their hatred??
Re: I think we need to address this issue
To be honest, i'm not sure what i would do if i came across that. It is up to the moderator of that particular forum.
But lets say, if someone was passing around heinous ideas of hate, and hoping they occur, then it would be worthy of action. And that post or posts should be reviewed. If someone's only goal is to provoke others and spread ideas that cause dissent among majority, then something should be done about it.
Which is why it is important to report any posts that you personally feel are out of line, and the concerned people (Moderators/CM) will see to it that it is reviewed, and a decision made by consensus of the team.
That's why you see some posts are edited and left there, if they have anything good that can be part of the discussion, then some posts are removed which are then reviewed pending a decision, and some posts are removed and incur warning either verbal or infraction, and so on.
Re: I think we need to address this issue
I am not accusing mods at all, they are doing a wonderful job.
I am saying what is allowed and what is not, For some strange reason it is accepted for a group of ppl to pass anti pakistan statements.
All I am saying It should not be like that.
Amreeka closed down guntanama bay, what if some where down the line they appologize for attacks in pakistan
What would this group do commit suicide ? noo
They will find other ways to express the hate against pakistan. They are pretty comfortable uttering those statements in real life and on GS.
All I am saying that is not fair.
Re: I think we need to address this issue
Yeah, you're right. Some of the stuff that is said is literally borderlining. No doubt about that.
Okay let me ask you this, what would you want done with those people? And how are we going to judge whose comments are okay and whose aren't?

i dont know,
I know we are pretty sensitive about our females even on GS, If we are 1/10 of that about things being said about pakistan, you would never need to ask this question.
PS: I am very proud how even GS our behavior is about females.
PS2: just a though.
Re: I think we need to address this issue
^ thanks for your support!
Re: I think we need to address this issue
Look PM, we just can't restrict opinions if you don't like it, the purpose of gupshup is not only discussion but also understand/listen other views too. If you don't like one views, why not gather your arguments, research and attack with knowledge ?
Believe me no one can stand against it. Either you will convince them to accept your thinking or their will be no more reply !
Re: I think we need to address this issue
hehehe
you are very simple my friend.
hehehe you are very simple my friend.
So what you gonna do personal attack? That's what you are clearing doing in PA right now, refrain it will not take you any where !

Re: I think we need to address this issue
in simple words?
If this thread is not about the Mod’s performance or GS policy related then may I suggest moving this to All Views or PA.
As far is GS policy is concerned, this is it

Re: I think we need to address this issue
"In light of recent events in Pakistan, Gupshup will not tolerate any viewpoints that sympathize with groups or individuals officially or unofficially allied with any group that is a threat to Pakistan's integrity or carries out or condones terrorist attacks within Pakistan. All such posts will be deleted and those who make them will be banned from the site."
I guess mod them haven't reviewed it in a while have they?
Re: I think we need to address this issue
P Monk, if you see any such posts, you can always use report bad post button to send your concerns to the admins or you can PM the mods. None of the mods knowingly would be avoiding such attitude. Just so you know, amongst all the forums, the highest number of warnings and bans come out of people posting in PA. Majority of those are because of anti-pak postings, so it is unfair on your part to assume that Mods are not following that policy.
You hardly see what is been cleaned, you are just considering what's probably been overlooked and making an observation based on that.
