if you look at the pattern of information on Wikipedia, you can observe there that muslims’ point of view is never conveyed properly or logically, be it an issue regarding Muslim & Hindu, Muslim & Chritianity, or Muslim vs ‘anything’.
I think Muslims are themselves responsible for all this. They actually don’t want to portray them and their religion positively for some unknown complexes. Sources like Wikipedia are open for anyone. but wo jo kehte hain ‘jab dil hi na chahta ho to dua main asar kaisa’, same thing applies here.
yes, but i think it takes lobbyist’s work to portray a positive image of you, today.
however i agree that Muslims are themselves responsible for all this.
I don’t think that’s fair. Muslims do a world of good out there too but since poop is what sells papers and interests the world, its all you see.
There ARE good people - innately good Muslims who truly believe in doing well for others and humanity - I say this because I KNOW them personally. And I think its horrible that those efforts are made nil because of someone’s negative actions.
I admit, we’re not really all that popular right now. But I don’t think its cause to be ashamed of being a Muslim. I’d feel sorry for someone who felt that way because they seem to have missed the great things about their religion.
There is good and bad everywhere - don’t be fooled by media - think for yourself.
Positivity can be be found inside a person when you talk about religion, but its not that easy as falling to the media talk portraying us in negative light all the time.
People do believe in it, a big proportion. If all of us think that we are ambassadors of the religion and deal with others according to its essence, I think it will make a difference. Islam is the most misunderstood religion in the world, and we the followers have also played a role in its image’s distortion.
I agree, but will falling for media propaganda and trying to hide or disown our identity as a Muslim will solve the problem? de-chanelised people with lower morals will haunt everyone.
reality is as vague term as fantasy in this ever changing world. No one knew that Mujahideen of 1980s decade will be termed as terrorists in 21st century
On another note, the credibility/acceptance/popularity of any Religion / movement is a big function of how it treats dissenting opinion. To that extent, all Religions and their followers can do a better job. But I don’t want to explore this further. Maybe topic for another thread.
