those who have crossed all limits of humanity are no longer humans and should be treated as they treat us.
Are we not crossing the limits of humanity too when we treat them as they treat us?

^ One of the difference is that you are able to express your opinion here on the other hand if you were in a Taliban run area you would have been physically eliminated by them for dissent. That is what the Paksitani army and Paksitani people are fighting against.
That is exactly my point! Why are we copying the behaviour of the very people we are fighting?
The policy kicks-in when you come and say something along the lines that the soldiers and Pakistanis who are dying in fighting with this cancer of society infact lost their lives for NOTHING and they were fighting "ISLAM". Hope this clears the matter.
Indeed, I don't get it!
You can disagree with statements like above. Even express your disgust at them. But why do you have to suppress them? What purpose does that serve? That is self defeating.
Re: I protest.....
I didnt know we have two feedback forums now??? I posted my reply to this on the other one, so ill copy paste the relevant parts here, as a senior member of PA. In a nutshell, I am against this censorship.
As for this new policy, needless to say it doesn't suit a discussion forum. We cant all be 'yes men' and endorse wars, no matter whose right or wrong. We are told by some that the operation against the Bengalis was wrong, the operation against the MQM terrorism in KArachi was wrong but THIS one is saintly and MUST be supported. Though I personally support it, but dictating what action users should take on a discussion forum is a bad idea and always backfires. Let people debate it out, stop threatening them with zulmat-e-zia please. I request the babu-jees who masterminded this policy to read a little about Habib Jalib. It took the nation decades to figure him out, and now hes hailed as a hero and his poetry is dubbed the poetry of defiance. Keep in mind he spent most of his life in jail because he spoke the bitter truth, and he didn't spare our Armed Forces either. He passed away but just a few weeks ago (15 years after his demise) he received the hilal-e-imtiaz.
Its simple, when we had the whole mumbai escapade, I was really disappointed to see some senior people just recommend the easiest way to deal with them is to ban them on the site. That is defeat in itself. Some of us prefer to let them stay and make sure to provide them with befitting counter arguments and we did so in the past. Quite frankly, this new forum policy is basically a defeat, at least in my eyes.
Re: I protest.....
krash....it's quite simple...let me give you an example
I have never once heard anyone in America say that the American troops lost their lives for nothing. Americans have always stood by their soldiers even if they were against the Bush administration and/or the war itself. American pride is what these people feel no matter what their views are....and at the end of the day...they will always support their troops....thats what you call American Pride!!
The point is whether you think it's a useless war or not.....pakistan IS currently in the state of war regardless of our views. therefore, in support of the Pakistani troops *GS will not allow one to curse or wish death upon them.
*
This my friend is called patriotism and support of our troops not censorship.
Indeed, I don't get it!

How exactly this is supression! Evryone is allowed to voice his concerns with reasoning. Many users are already doing it, including yourself. CURSING and wishing DEATH to Pakistani army soldiers does not merit a logical argument. And no it's not BLIND patriotism (as I see many users use this term just for heck of it). We don't want to turn this forum to a MachliBazar where any1 can come and shout whatever they want against the STATE, ultimately turning it to a Taliban mouthpiece and expect us to accept this as freedom of speech (another phrase we Pakistanis use just for heck of it)
The point is that every1 is allowed to post his point of views but we will not let anyone use this forum as a plateform to fight their "crusade" against "INFIDELS" AKA Pakistani Government and Pakistan ARMY, period.
Re: I protest.....
For all those who believe so much in Freedom of Speech, I challenge you to go to Taliban ridden areas and try to use the same freedom of speech right to promote non-taliban culture there.
And please have someone send us the Youtube link of the video that Talilbans would post about you few weeks later.
Thank you.
Re: I protest.....
So TLK, did you also support the Pak Military operation against the MQM terrorists and East PAkistan, a yes or a no will do please.
Re: I protest.....
I support any army operation whose main purpose is to save our country from any threat. East Pakistan operation was to save someone's Kursi .. army was used by the Govt for selfish reasons. That gave army a bad name.
I am not gonna say anything about MQM operation. People will start saying that I am MQM supporter, that I am not. So I am going to stay away from it.
haha see, I couldn't get a yes or no answer from you! So how do you expect the same from some posters?

:) Just replace MQM with taliban in that above two lines of yours, and you'll find many people genuinely saying the same thing here.
Stalemate, or shall I say checkmate :)
Re: I protest.....
Dude, there is a whole lot difference between MQM and Talibans.
PPP used army to gain control on MQM, not because they thought that MQM is a terrorist organization but because MQM was a politcal threat to them. Why PPP and MQM have alliance now, why PPP is not trying to eliminate MQM now? That was all a political game.
In nutshell, there is a difference between using army for political gains and using army to save the country.
Dude, there is a whole lot difference between MQM and Talibans.
Sorry but the Army went against the MQM, it was a full scale military operation, just like this, and was requested by the Govt. The army was involved too, as one of their men was tortured by bhai's orders.

I have heard this before by MQM supporters, so I am not going to indulge into that debate again as that was not my point. I am not a PPP supporter, but that operation was justified in my books, you may disagree, that is your right. I just wish as a director you would bestow the same right to others rather than that zero tolerance policy you put up.

Again, who gets to decide which operation is to be supported? Let the posters debate and decide on their own.
it was a full scale military operation, just like this,
Wrong Dude, it wasn't at this scale, please tell me how many millions were displaced because of Operation Clean-up ?
** but that operation was justified in my books**,.
Same here, this Operations against Taliban's is justified by hefty population of Pakistan.

An elected government, period !

Seriously, do you even read what you write? Millions of people? The population of the entire district of Swat is just a little over than a million people.

Any proof? And what do you mean by 'same here', I didnt imply the hefty population supports any operation or not. I said let them decide.

So those who dont vote for the elected Govts are supposed to be threatened and banned?
Firenze, next time please try to raise the bar.

Disappointed to see this response from the Director himself.
What do taliban's standard have to do with ours?
I have been trying to say repeatedly that we should not be trying to copy the tactics of the very people we are fighting.

It was a mere example dude, let's compare Karachi & Swat operation: Half of the Swat population is already migrated, this wasn't the case in Karachi operation.

Barometer of public opinion is shown from the tune of Media & Politicians. Yes their is disagreements and difference of opinion by Jammat Islami & Tehreek-Insaaf, but their opposition is very minor issue, **Atte Mein Namak K Baraber.. **

Well Sir who didn't vote for the current elected government, they have to wait for their turn, right? In next elections vote for your respective parties/personalities and change the policies. Democracy right?

Understood your disappointment and feel bad that you are indeed disappointed by my words.
But if you, instead of looking at the policy, just look around the forum, you will see plenty of freedom of speech. I am surprised that you ignored all that but picked up on a policy that is just a temporary one and for the people who are using these tough times to elevate the hatred towards Pak Army and Govt, and they are doing it with almost an agenda.
I hope you understand the sensitivity of this situation, that I have no doubt that you already do.
Re: I protest.....
Are people out of their minds?
Whats this nonsense about patriotism? People in America are supporting an oppressive force if they side with their troops. There is no such thing as National pride, there is only Justice. Just because a force belongs to a country, doesn't mean everyone is obligated to side with it everytime it does something.
WMDs and Bin Laden was a threat to the existence of US, how far have they progressed in ending that threat?
Taliban are now a threat to Pakistan? You guys seriously kidding me? People get fed bullcrap, propaganda runs rampant in the media.
People who support this policy of "You cannot say anything against the troops because they are justified in their stance" are no different than those who supported the US invasion of Iraq for WMDs.
Grow up, and think of humanity at large. The country is in shambles, we have bigger things to worry about than to chase a phantom threat. Which didn't exist a while ago, but now apparently there is a huge force regrouping in Swat.
BULLcrap.
This is why Pakistan never progresses. We need independent thinkers in Pakistan. Not people who mobilize on whim.
Pakistani Army is a pride of every Pakistani, even mine. However, If some idiots make some stupid decision to jeopardize its existence, then I DO NOT SUPPORT IT.
The tolerance policy is just as authoritative and not needed on a open forum.

:) ah so Taliban is all propaganda. When they bomb hospitals, and claim credit for it, its all propaganda. When they assassinate elected officials and take credit for it, its all propaganda. When they broadcast on their radio ultimatums on girls going to school, its all propaganda. When they dig up a religious leader who opposed them from his grave, and hang his body in the public square, its all propaganda. For more propaganda, and links to such propaganda, please go to my signature. its designed for an audience that believes that BS.
Tone-deaf windbags such as your esteemed self need to get a dose of reality. You need to understand that the same line, repeated a million times, doesnt get any truer.
All of your efforts to make them into cuddly little baa-lambs who just want a utopian society, a jannah on earth, are undermined by the STATEMENTS on doing exactly that. On their STATEMENTS on wanting to expand control into Buner and Dir.
Its a ****ing joke to come here and talk to us about propaganda when you are patently not averse to dipping your toes into that pool yourself.

Who the hell said they didnt exist a while ago? Swat has been in turmoil for 2 years now. Did you just wake up to this?
Re: I protest…
Spock !! why do you have to bring MQM into everything. Gosh some people are soo bitter that it is spilling out of their gutts everytime they post on gupshup
Please try to come out of your shell of Hate MQM club once in a while and talk about something else. NO I am not their supporter either but you have some serious agendas.
On the other notes, I say it is an excellent step putting up this policy. So many people are dying everyday and I would not wish to see any “Taliban Glorifying” threads…or anything against those people who are fighting against them.
