ok so through this forum i have found my love for good quality makeup and how to apply it properly! thanks everyone!
So i have found my perfect foundation and concealer and trained myself to apply makeup properly through various posts and videos and i feel im quite ok at it now!
BUT grrrrrrrrrrr…basically my eye shadow always fades and creases i use an eye primer but it still happens! i do have pretty greasy eyelids…but i want to make sure my eye shadow doesnt crease.
Also my lipgloss doesnt stay for 2 seconds..do u guys just keep applying it or should i train myself to make it stay?
Different people will advise you different things as far as the eyebase goes. What I use is the favourite of **many **of the girls on various makeup communities and it WORKS.
First you need MAC Paint in a nude colour (Bare Canvas) all over the lid and brow bone. You only need a little of this as with the warmth of your finger and eyelid it should spread quite nicely. It looks very nice on its own if you're going for a minimal makeup look.
Second - Urban Decay Primer Potion. This is heavy duty stuff and I don't like working eyeshadow on top of it, hence not using all over the lid. Once the Paint is dry, dab a few dots of this in the crease and immediately pat it around to blend it in.
Once UDPP is dry you can start with the eyeshadow. The colours should really show up now and the shadow shouldn't fade or crease. When I absolutely don't want any creasing, I do apply a lot more UDPP over most of the lid but just the crease is fine for normal days.
when applying urban decay pat it dont rub when applying
u can try setting that with loose powder before applying shadow
and yes please dont use eye creams or any such thing
personally i use urban decay alone and then just use eye shadow... for me the less products the better
For a no fail approach use primer (as in foundation primer), then foundation (blended softly and sparingly on the eyelids), then your eyeshadow primer, eyeshadow, then setting spray, and setting powder.
I use this approach with brides or models who are working in situations where they may sweat more, or be more exposed to the elements.
^ that sounds like a very expensive method! but thanks noor! i could try using foundation primer, foundation then eye primer...
It's actually not too expensive (if you ignore well known commercial brand names). You can nixx the foundation primer, and the setting spray and setting powder can cost as low as five dollars each (and last an incredibly long time)! :D
Also my lipgloss doesnt stay for 2 seconds..do u guys just keep applying it or should i train myself to make it stay?
omg i have the same pblm, alvena! i actually gave up on glosses because i couldn't figure out how to make them stay longer....someone told me to put lip liner all over the lips as a base to make lipstick/gloss last longer. While doing so prolongs the lasting power of lipstick maybe an extra hour, def not the case with lip gloss. sigh, i need to find a purpose for the collection i have as of now, haha....so sad :(
