Re: i need shopping details to buy kurti's in karachi

Ideas is a cool place to browse but over over over priced.

I wouldnt buy a thing from 'em except lawn, their shoes and bags are cute but you can get the same things at other places at a quarter of a price.
They are only famous cause its a brand name like Levis or Wayne Cooper or Versace for the west.

So if you live in Pakistan then by all means buy ideas and strut it around but in the west noOne cares you are sporting something from Ideas.

For kurtis i'd def go Zainab Market. Take someone who can bargain hard cause you'll need it. Their prices are accomodated to bargain people.
At one shop i bought 5 kurtis, a balochi dress and two afghani necklaces for Rs 1000. That is after hard bargaining.

If you arent really up for Zainab then there is a shop on Tariq Road behind Exclusive, i forgot its name. Exclusive is at the corner, if you go in the gali there are 2 shops, the second one has some very nice kurtis each around Rs 500 each.

Options is another shop if you are looking for cute shalwar kameez.

Gulf and Forum are alrite shops but like i said for us western living desis, they dont really do much.

Oh if you visit Forum you HAVE to go to WalkEaze, its a shoe shop on the second level and the heels are to die for.

Re: i need shopping details to buy kurti's in karachi

Thanks adrasteia for your comments! But i am already back in holland and saw your comment too late! :(

I didnt go to zainab market although i passed it a couple of times! my friends recommended me not to go there ! i didnt find many kurti shops at tariq road except chen one , i didnt like their kurtis that much quality wise they were a bit overated eventhough if i would convert it back in euro's quality wise and design were not that appealing for me to buy 1! I guess with chen one its the brandname that decides the price not the quality or design itself , however i did like 1 but they didnt have it in my size :( :( which was a big bummer..

i went to dolmen mall , portia fabric store , parktowers forum i guess i almost visited whole karachi in only 4 days lol.
I went almost crazy buying mohammad faroo lawns and vaneeza ahmeds....

You are right about kurti's at ideas i did like them but again they didnt have it in my size :( only for skinny types..so i did have more succes at khaadi's i bought unstittched fabrics so i could design them according to my own preferences....

Gulf market was completly burnt down....i saw people looking for fabrics between all the ashes.... too bad coz i was told i would have a lot more succes over there.

next time i will def pay a visit at zainab market , however i was quite dissapointed at tariq road couldnt find any nice kurti's except ready made suits.

but thanks anyway :)
