I need party game ideas

I’m doing an engagement party for a friend and wanted to do it as a cross between a bridal shower and a dholki.

The party is co-ed, parents, friends, family invited.

Do you have any ideas for games we could play? What sorts of fun games have you played at bridal showers or other parties?

Re: I need party game ideas

That twister game. The one with giant colored dots, that involve you climbing onto one another.

Okay, fine, I jest.

Re: I need party game ideas

^lol, with a bunch of aunties that would be hilarious.

Re: I need party game ideas

:rotfl: PCG this is it, the best one ever.

Re: I need party game ideas

kho kho!!!!!!!

Re: I need party game ideas

How about Musical Chair (don't bundle the kids and the grown-ups together) or Intakshiri or maybe Truth or Dare (between the guy's and the girl's side)?

Re: I need party game ideas

Antaakshari and dancing statue!

Re: I need party game ideas

Chupkese - isn't kho kho the game where you run around outside? it's too cold here for that. plus i hate to run :p

phat-gurl - hmmm.. musical chairs might be silly and fun. thanks for the idea! Some sort of wedding antakshiri might be neat too. Truth or Dare could get a bit risque!

blushing vision - what's dancing statue?

Re: I need party game ideas

Well you dance till the music is stopped, for a few seconds everyone doesnt move untill the music is played again. The people who move are out while the last person remaining will be the winner! It is somewhat like musical chair.

Re: I need party game ideas

Some ideas I had:

1) I'm asking people to bring their stories about the bride and/or groom and will give a prize for the most entertaining story.

2) adapt games like Win, Lose, or Draw/Pictionary/Taboo for a wedding theme in particular

3) some sort of quiz about the groom (we're from the groom's side, so it will be mostly people who know him well) to see if its the parents or the friends/siblings that know him better.

Re: I need party game ideas

ooooh. right. that’ll be fun (as long as people are willing to dance in front of each other).

Re: I need party game ideas

try boggle. i played it a few times with friends. very addictive.

Re: I need party game ideas

^Not a bad idea. These guys are big board game fans -- but not that many people can play at once, right?

Re: I need party game ideas

How about spin the bottle!
Truth or dare!

Re: I need party game ideas

^i don't think spin the bottle will fly amongst our crowd.

I'm not sure how truth or dare would work, either.

Re: I need party game ideas

Dont do games :smack: And if you really really want games in your party stick to antakshiri.

Just out on some cool music, do some bhangra shangra, make all the aunties dance. That should be more than enough fun.

Re: I need party game ideas

^ I'll try to get them to dance, but many will feel uncomfortable (esp cuz it's coed), and I'm not about to force it.

Re: I need party game ideas

men vs women... and do antakhshiri

Re: I need party game ideas

I was watching Bridges tv and they have this show called He Said She Said.
You separate the couples and ask them questions like who can keep a secret better, what is each other’s favorite food, etc. Then you bring them together and see who has the most correct answers. This would be fun for the bride/groom too as they will find out info. about each other. Also surprising to see how many ppl who have been together for a long time get most of the answers wrong :hehe:
