lol...ham log to coachroach ko jhingar kahte the. laal baig to kabhii nahiiN sunaa thaa...han, hai to ta'ajjub kii hii baat...mere Khayaal se India meN laal baig shaayad nahiiN kahte kiuN k maiN ne kabhii nahiiN sunaa thaa yeh lafz.
Same here…Maine hamesha “jhingar” lafz suna hai cockroach ke liye…maybe it is an Indian thing? In my family, we also say “kunjee” instead of “chabee” for keys…ok…enough de-railing of this thread..carry on

yes…sounds like…we say kunji as well for chaabhii…if your ancestors came from Lucknow area, then we are on the same page. do call** DewRhii **for Hallways/vestibules?

Ya I have heard of this word Kunji as my mom is from Lucknow and father is from Bhopal, been to Lucknow 2/3 times in my childhood

Even my Daadi always used Kunji for key, although she spent all of his life in Sindh and she used to speak ba mahavra Sindhi.

kunji is a very common word in Urdu literature but little used in day to day conversation. chaabhee is more often used now which is a Hindi word. :)**

dude u are right, freaking PIA flights are filthy, they need to clean up..
it seems to be an issue with the region, indian planes passengers are stinky, forced deodorant application may be in order
cleanliness and hygiene does not seem to be big in that part of the world.
I expect as many abcds to know what laal bait is as I expect the airindia passengers to know what a deodorant is...i.e. not many. :D
