im doing my dissertation and i need to put my student id number on the right hand corner of every page. there is a way you can do this but i just cant seem to find the function.
can someone tell me how?

I think it will be same for all version of MS Word.
I can say it about MS Word 2007.
For that you have to go to Insert and then you have to select header. There you can chose the style and more about it.

You mean headers and footers...
If you're using Office 2003:
Click on View from the top toolbar, then click on Headers and Footers.
Once you've done that, a highlighted box will appear on the top and bottom of the page. Simply enter your Student ID either on the top or bottom, then align it to the right. Then double-click on the centre of the page. Every page will now have your Student ID on it. Job's done.
