im getting married june 09 and am i`A going to pakistan for the tayari of my wedding and wanted to know if any of you know places where i can get nice clothes made SOON (like within 2 weeks) and nice artifical jewlery?
i heard there a lot on ZAM ZAMA but dont really know since i havent been there in a couple years.
anyone have any ideaa?
it depends on how many your getting some darzis take time 2 weeks is kind of short, i know just a couple of weeks ago we got some clothes from pak and a lot of them came back unstitched cause the darzis wouldn't take them with the electricity rollouts they don't have the time. but good luck!

There is no way in hell, unless you are LOADED with $$ that u can get clothes, jewelry, bridal etc done in 2 weeks.
I am going to lahore from the US for my wedding. I am going almost 3 months ahead of time...

I wouldnt recommend getting them made in such a short time....you would be better off buying them ready-made...and having them altered etc. I went to Lahore 2 years ago, but it was for my nikah...and I only got 2 outfits made...BARELY..one for the dholki and one for the nikah...and believe me its not easy..
you dont want to rush the darzis into making your outfits...especially if you are having all your functions at the same time...spend your time shopping for outfits..as opposed to going to the darzi 3 times a day..you d be better off getting your shopping done in the first week..leaving the other week for relaxation. :) Good luck!

In Gulf, if u order something from KAM WALAs then they will make the dress within 2 weeks.. so its not an issue.. if u want to go for ready-made, then check out boutiques at Zamzama, tariq road, and bahadarabad..

Why are you in such a rush if the wedding is not for another year?
With all the load-shedding going on u'd be lucky if you got them in 2 months!

Yes..talk about darzi nakhray n their dates! My mom has been in Khi for close to 2 months now n still coping with all of it! I know load-shedding is part of the problem, but uff it just seems like never-ending... The worst thing is that we've stuck to this darzi for ages n he takes advantage that we end up with him everytime*sighs*...i miss my mom:(

well i only have 2-3 weeks because i havde school and wanna finish some schoo before i get married and the only time off i have is for those couple weeks.
I was thinking to get about 3-4 darzis that my family members over there use and to just give them all a couple suits cause these clothes are for the jahez.
the shaadi and valima clothes i already ordered with banto and my sas did the zevar for the shaadi and valima so the important stuff i dont have to really worry about
but now i have to do my sisters zevar and moms and their clothes so thts the problem i dont know where to get the artificial jewlery for them and the clothes i was thinking to get my sister a sari for the valima and a shara or pishwas for the shaadi wht do you think?
do you guys kno any good places to get these things?

i saw some really good peshwas at peter brown, bahadarabad.. for artificial jewellary visit Tariq road, there r so many shops in Tariq centre, tariq road..
hmm for Saris, again i wud suggest tariq road..u can get all kinds of varities there..

Most designers will ship stuff once it's ready. My MIL just made my SIL's bari like that, all by Barkha (Shahina Zuberi) in Karachi (Defense). When clothes were ready she shipped them. I know Bunto Kazmi did the same for a friend of mine. Find good designers that you can trust to make quality clothes.
