Re: i need advice
I do not rush it . I cry while in sajdah ( that feels very fulfilling and makes me feel very light after each namaz) I read each and every ayat of surah a fateha and the connecting surah seperately and give a small pause in between each ayat to absorb the meaning of what I am saying.
I say my tasbeeh more than three times while in rukuh and sajdah.
The trick is to do everything more than minimum prescribed, many more times than prescribed.
It becomes hard to do all these thing while praying with Jamaat for mandatory namaz but you can pray sunnat and nafil this way to establish that connection.
May Allah save me from being a show off . I am just trying to help you and being honest about it.
Re: i need advice
^ no no...you are not showing of..in fact really really thank you.
Re: i need advice
What can be better than the guidance of the Prophet:saw2:
Salah is the Meraaj of a Moimin
When you offer salah, pray as if you are seeing Allah:subhanahu: ; even if you do not see Him, He definitely sees you.
Remember the approaching death.

You should pray with the intention and feeling of segregating yourself from your worldly affairs and do not hasten it. Any action you do for Allah SWT should be your best effort at it. Be humble and impervious of your surrounding including people around you. Try to enjoy your recitation during Namaaz and that will help you slow do down and not hasten your prayer. Offer your prayer with great hope and submisiveness to Allah SWT, be honest and not shy in what you ask of Allah SWT. This is how I do it and I feel at peace during my Salah.

Imam Ali-ibne- Abi Talib (as) has said: "If a prayerful person knew to what extent he was surrounded by Allah's Mercy, he would never raise his head from the state of prostration.
It is good if you remember Mercy of ALLAH upon you then the above paragraph is enough to understand,, and making connection with Allah Subhana Wa Tallah, while you pray.
Thanks

:)..When we go to a friends house.....
and we knock on the door.........
our friend is glad to see us......
and he opens the door.......:)
Standing in Salaat is JUST LIKE THAT.........
standing in front Allah Rabul Izzat's door.....
Allah Rubul Izzat has Said......
When my banda knocks on my door......
I always answer..............:)
I found that my namaz was better each time i was 'down' or was in some sort of trouble and really needed Allah (swt). So now each time b4 my namaz i tell myself how weak, poor, and reliant i m on Allah. This me feel the need for Allah and hence pray better.
Try to develop love of Rasool Allah (pbuh) in ur heart as he is Allah's best creation, rehmat ul aalameen, and our nabi. Allah has demanded love for him as well as his family [Say, for this I ask no wage of you, save love of my kin" (Qur'an xlii. 22)]. Try to read about his family (Ahlul Bayt), whose men and women are the best examples to follow in each aspect of life.
hope it helps
ramesha :)

I think it is ones own death that one needs to remember.
I often wonder what submission means in human terms. It is like someone gives him/herself up completely "do what you like to me ... I am your thing" type of attitude. People drop themselves infront of other people.
In a similar sense but more intensely I often build in myself a sense of "entire giving up" as though my soul is like at the edge of a cliff and I have made it jump off, limp, in complete trust that Allah (SWT) is there to hold it up. I take my heart and present it on a platter before my Lord. I open all my doors and layers and tremble before His Might. While trembling I take comfort in His Protection.
Just imagine a really fast roller-coaster ride but not holding on to the bar not even holding your breath or tensing your muscles just complete "let go" ...
Re: i need advice
^ Exactly. You've described it much better than i could've. Praying salah in a state of total submission makes you suddenly aware of your real significance and leaves you feeling humbled, and dependant on God.
Also, whilst reciting, taking your time and focusing on the meaning really helps to keep things in perspective, and also keeps your mind from wandering.
Personally, i think it helps if you think about your worth in this world; in comparison to the rest of the huge universe (which is akin to a drop of water in an ocean) and then relate that to how God is viewing us humans in a similiar way.
Or perhaps imagine your level of dependency on Him to hear your prayers, as if you're standing with a noose around your neck that is about to be tightened. Or even... you standing at pul e siraat on the day of Qiyamah should connect you directly to God.
Re: i need advice
how one can completely submit themselves?
i do feel like i am like a speck, but a worthless one ![]()
exactly this is sumission the feeling that Allah is almighty and we are a worthless speck , that is bandagi.

There is a popular hadith about Ihsan … it is that we think we see Allah (SWT) but we see Him not. It is a type of imaginative thought process that is used to create emotion in us. Additionally it is like we perceive there is a muscle inside us that we are holding on to, this holding on is like the sense of us grooming our egos. When we let this metaphoric muscle loose a sense of release should be felt in your deep mind and if you induce within yourself a europhic state of mind then it will rush like a high, but do so in a way that allows you to align your every thought, every action voluntary and involuntary to Allah (SWT).
Simply thinking cognitively about being worthless is only part of the whole process, you need to also ‘act’ worthless and then ‘be’ worthless all in one ensemble during prayer.
