Re: I need a new handbag

400 - 1300 for a handbag??? :S why??? itna kya khass hai inn main???

Well, I havent spent 1300 on a bag yet so not sure about that. Lekin my 400 bag is made of thick leather and lasts me forever and ever without looking like its been beaten to death (which is the case).

Ive just noticed a difference in quality, durability and life. Over the course of a year, I might replace my Target back at least 10 times because it starts to tear, look bad and lose its shape due to all the stuff I carry around in it. On average, these bags cost me about $30 - $40 each.

I would rather spend it on one item that falls apart (by falling apart I mean some of the stitching is fraying around the handle) over a year later.

Yes? No? Maybe So?

Re: I need a new handbag

I need a new handbag too. One that is big enough to carry emergency diapers and baby stuff but trendy enough for me to take to work. I have been using the SAME handbag, EVERYDAY for since May 2008. sigh

What about this? Its a Kate Spade…so pretty…

someone complains about handbag not lasting long enough, another complains about handbag lasting more than a year.

:mudhosh:

the root of the issue isnt about a handbag. its the neediness of womenfolk to constantly have something to hold on to. dr. queer’s message to all wimpy women (99%, if you are angry at this, you are in the 1% and this isnt directed at you) is to toughen up, and save your money for retirement instead of glorified sacks.

Re: I need a new handbag

queer pai, it's okay, i design bag just for u. u won't be left out huggles

:smilestar:

Men express themselves with cars and gadgets…women with fashion…and “glorified sacks” as you so eloquently put it.

Re: I need a new handbag

I was gonna say "wish I had a $400 budget for handbag" but then I thought, what the heck, I can have a budget of more than that if I want but I find way better uses for the money.

I usually change my handbag once a year.....and most times it is just because I have gotten tired of looking at the same thing. My bags take a beating. Ask anyone in my family. They are used for way more than just carrying a wallet and make-up......often they double as an overnight bag, carry my lunch stuff to and from work everyday, carry my gadgets, on occasion my bills that need to be paid, some snacks for the little one, a water bottle, etc., etc.

I have yet to spend $100 on a purse. And no, I don't buy vinyl or pleather; the bags are always leather and always trendy and current. They just don't have a name associated with them.....at least most times they don't.

I don't think that I will ever understand the need to pay exorbitant amounts of cash and carry around someone else's name.

gawwwjus!!
or maybe I’m just feeling metalic today.

And you’re so right the coach this season reminds me of all the moti kaaliya in the world.

Reha, the following is a UK store but they have some really gorgeous and funky bags, they deliver overseas, not sure for how much but anyhoo take a look  -

Cars are still generally considered a man's hobby as well as gadgets.

I never said it was unique to women...we just use it much more to express ourselves whereas men generally use the above mentioned vices.

I dont understand a lot of things about peoples' spending habits...expensive wedding outfits, extravagant vacations, ostentatious wedding rings, lavish parties, etc...but thats okay...because its not my money.

Its a simple matter of perspective. I dont spend a lot of money on food, lots of make up, expensive skin care, pricey shoes or even clothes these days. That being said...no, I dont feel guilty spending $400 on a bag I find nice.

You spend your money on what you feel is important you.

I like this one…something out of the ordinary!!

Re: I need a new handbag

Guac, I saw that one toooooooo! drool But it needs to be leather...Coach's Jacquard fabric falls apart on me pretty quickly.

Im totally digging metallic this season!!

Yeah, thats the issue. They all look so blah this year…like re-makes of past ones and just uff! :smack:

I have such good experiences with them though. They’re so stronggggg!

I can see myself buying a cheap knockoff on Canal Street in NYC from someone's trunk and haggling with him over the price. I think I would go to this extreme for a nice handbag.

Now the question is, how obvious is a knockoff compared to the real deal?

My friend go so many on her recent trip and I can't tell the difference. They aren't falling apart on her.

I used to buy my handbags and shoes from Nine West or Town and Shoes. I can no longer afford this and have downgraded myself to shopping at Winners. sigh Now i'm contemplating getting knockoffs or even heading to the flea market. How incredibly sad.
