I need a degree in physics.

I was thinking about starting on-line.

Any input?

Re: I need a degree in physics.

Yeh i d suggest contacting Stephen Hawking and you could later on help him with this project Latest news & breaking headlines | The Times and The Sunday Times

Leme know when your done with it and save me a seat

Re: I need a degree in physics.

At this point I can only clean his apartment.

Re: I need a degree in physics.

If this is an epiphany after your near crash experience on the highway the other day… dude, you were half asleep that night, and may even be half asleep now thinking about a Physics degree :hehe: surely you just need a refresher in classical mechanics - acceleration, velocity, momentum and the like. A Physics degree is an overkill, but then again, isn’t JK synonymous with Overkill

Re: I need a degree in physics.

:omg:

dude like amir khan said “aap ki halki phulki paapi bhi papa ky braber hoti hy”

what you are refering as refreasher course seems like over a year’s work to me.

I was more thinking like reading some thing like “physics for dummies.”

you know I have read quiet a bit of electromagnetic stuff, waves, and how to sampling them. and apply discreet math on them.
You know acceleration and hydraulics seems so boring to me as oppose to waves, sound and light.

But I do want to embed that stuff in my head… bohat ho gia. ab… ab to mujh ko perhana hi hy :asa:

I want to play with stuff now.

Re: I need a degree in physics.

Since physics is very hands on, i wouldn't recommend doing it online.

Oh wait - are you talking ab an entire DEGREE or just one course?

:omg:

Anyhow, I’d have to agree with Hulahoop Queen (and from what I gather, Lucid Chaotic too…)

I come from an Engineering background and have completed graduate degrees at both B&M and distance/online schools. I can tell you that any Natural or Applied Science degree will need a major lab component that is best accessed at a B&M school.

If you were considering an online/distance degree in Arts, Mathematics, (Pure) Software, or Social Sciences, that would have been a different story.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Re: I need a degree in physics.

hipo/queen

:hinna: not being able to afford equipment held me back last time, from doing things.

hmmm maybe I should enroll my self in a small program to get access to a lab.

Re: I need a degree in physics.

The best physics you can't replicate in a lab anyway ... Wanna do some physics on Gupshup?

Mechanics is strawberry jam

Re: I need a degree in physics.

^dude simple batoon ki itni lambi replies.
aur mery itny zaroori question ka itna choota response :(

please elaborate kareen sab points ko.

Re: I need a degree in physics.

How would an online course give you access to labs? :S

Re: I need a degree in physics.

^well you can do simulations using various softwares..like Interactive Physics..

umm, I would say you should do it at a college or uni..you would have to pay a total amount for the course and that would include labs and equipment, no?...(I am talking about in Canada assuming you are from here)

calculus based physics I (by Jeffrey W. Schnick) done.
calculus based physics II (by Jeffrey W. Schnick) done.

Mathematics of Classical and Quantum Physics by Frederick W. Byron and Robert W. Fuller :snooty: :snooty: (I kinda understand it)
Thermodynamics by Enrico Fermi (read few pages)
Mathematical Methods in the Physical Sciences by Mary L. Boas (few chapters as I need them)

Applied Hydro- and Aeromechanics (by Ludwig Prandtl and O. G. Tietjens) (its on its way to me)
Principles of Electrodynamics (by Melvin Schwartz) readin it

Re: I need a degree in physics.

What did I tell ya??

Re: I need a degree in physics.

what is your objective?

Re: I need a degree in physics.

just curious, brother.

Re: I need a degree in physics.

That’s some hardcore reading JK :k: :k:
You should’ve really enrolled in a program - just this type of reading would’ve fetched you some course credits towards a degree.

Re: I need a degree in physics.

hmmm

I didn’t study science/math after grade 10, so If I want get a degree they would make me do all the prerequisites for like next 10 years.
Plus the money and the effort required :nono: , Its ok like that.
I love what I am reading, very much… like starting athletic for first time :hugz:

Re: I need a degree in physics.

If you want to do it just to learn then start off with books, hang around in university libraries, talk to a few professors and maybe look for a short evening/open university course.
If it's something you want to do to better your CV or something then do a physics degree with a foundation year which should provide all the A level knowledge, you said you already know the basics so you're sorted :)
