I need a basic printer

So I need help in picking out a printer for my school:

  1. Can hook up to my MacAir (I have WiFi and a network connection as well)
  2. Is small so I can store it in a filing cabinet
  3. Prints letter size documents, b/w only is fine
  4. Toner shouldn’t run out after 100 copies
  5. Costs less than $200

Any suggestions?

Re: I need a basic printer

Yeah, that does look great.

Anything smaller? I don't have much space :( but I'll measure my cabinet tonite.

Re: I need a basic printer

smaller would be mobile printer, which would be expensive and also they are one page at a time printers, where you have to load each page manually

Re: I need a basic printer

Acha. So let me report back later with measurements. The features are what I'm looking for and the price is excellent.

Re: I need a basic printer

HP Envy 110. $149.99 (Sale) (I’ve personally used it, seems decent for a small printer.)

Pros: Very sleek looking, low profile design too. Will literally fit in a decent sized drawer. Wireless capability.

Cons: Paper tray doesn’t hold much. 80 Sheets at any one time. No fax. Includes efax and eprint though. Printing speed isn’t anything to brag about either.

These are probably the smallest, full size printers.

Re: I need a basic printer

In Laserjets, look for HP 1102W

Pros: 19 page/min. Black only. Toner will last about 1200 pages before you need to replace it. Wireless capable. Specifically mentions being AirPrint compatible.
Cons: Size perhaps. No media readers built-in (SD/XD, etc. or Flash Drive reader).

PS: I swear I don’t work for HP. :hehe: Just happen to only know about these from personal experience :bummer:
