I miss Ejaz Ahmed

With a ODI strike rate of 80+ he really was the life of the top order! His best performance in one day cricket: 139 not out off 84 balls!!! 10 fours and 9 sixes!!! Its true what they say, playing against India brings out the best in Pakistani players

Loved his batting and his ā€˜stance’ I think he was the best ā€˜anchore’ we had in the middle,

Can only get ā€˜Audio’ and no video Sherjeel :elmo:

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

hey, that is one brutal video!

He was a good slogger, but shouldn't really be considered as "anchor" or missed that much. He averaged 32 in 232 matches. He played some really good knocks, this is one of them may even be termed his best.

We now have Razzaq, Afridi who I think are much better.

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

I'm only getting Audio on my office pc ,,, will check the Video at home Pc ,,, can't wait to see him again,,,:D

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

He was one of the batsmen i like to watch but he was not a "class act". I never watched him playing "effortless" shots like Saeed, Miandad, Youhana, Inzamam, Salim Malik etc.

He was a hard hitter of cricket ball. You can call him an improved version of Afridi

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

^ nope! Afridi with brain. BTW Afridi is more hard hitter than Ejaz. He was a handy batsman though and took part in many of Pakistan's victory in crunch situations. One of the best late middle order sloggers.

Having said that, his 'bootiful' style of batting was kinda funny :D

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

Ejaz's nickname was "hathora". Tells you all.

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

another nick name was ā€œGAWALAā€

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

Ijaz :jhanda:

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

yeah he was a fine fine player + handy fielder at point. players like ijaz, basit ali, zaheer abbas, javed miandad always came in handy for pak.

:jhanda:

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

please yaar, don't compare Ijaz with Basit, Zaheer or Miandad, those three were "Batsman" of class.

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

read my post again kaptaan who was comparing? i mentioned them 4 as in my opinion in their prime, they were in a league of their own.

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

Its not a direct comparison, but the way you said implied that he belonged in same class. If you don’t mean that, then all is fine :jhanda:

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

:-)

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

wow... now this was a treat to watch!! :) I wish I could see somefin like this live...

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

He was a good batsmen. Could have ended being a 'great' batsman but his inability to finish matches regularly for pakistan was disappointing.

Still that innings was stunning. He played like a man possessed.

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

LOLZ
I think you only miss him because of those hilites of him posted on Pakistanimedia.com... when I saw that stuff damn I missed him 2. Problem was the man was a gangster and pretty crooked. Had a few great games and didnt show up the rest of the time 2 play.

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

One thing about Ejaz was that he always performed against Australia, whether at home or in Ozzie land.

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

You're right actually. He made six centuries playing against the aussies. :)

Re: I miss Ejaz Ahmed

Who wouldn’t miss him after that performance? Singlehandedly wrapping up a game in 26 overs!! Musta been something the Indians said that pissed him off so much.
