i didnt use to believe this before , but after learning about people and knowing them. its quite right I would say it may not be 100% accurate but its nearly true. lets say 35- 40% are not virgins and that inculdes girls as well with same or slightly less ratio.
and its not only common in Cities, small villages are worst victim of direct impact of bollywood, they may havent seen a major city in pak in real life but they see this through bollywood films. these lot innocent but they do it.
some guys always try to get grils either through money or without money.
the mod lot who dont see any harm in having pre marital sex
the hamosh lot who may be seen as very shareef and down to earth but they never miss any oppertunity to go for such things.
so after all these types only 50-60 % lot left who either very shareef or islamic or they have committed to some one or only see this thing as post marital things!
So the only ppl who beleive Pakistanis have alot of pre marital sex r the ones who them self live aboard & have no idea about pakistan. They only know pakistan as a fairy tail, what they hear, or speak to someone on internet calling it a survey :o

For Mr Jonybr, your statements were quite incorrect. My dear loving husband had never seen a country other than Pak, same with his uncles and many friends from school. Without exception, they all had some sort of sexual contact prior to marriage. And these are good, loving people who respect their marriage vows, are good providers, loving husbands and wonderful fathers. A man should never be condemned for the type of "sins of the flesh" that are being discussed here and to deny that they even exist is rather ignorant.

as far as being a good husband or wife after expereinceing pre-marital sex is a separte discussion... but "pre-marital" sex is clealry a violation of Islamic Laws as well as religious beliefes.
Desi C, did your aunt meant 45% in pakistan or in US (Pakistani men).
If 45% of Pakistani men living in North America are not virgins before marriage I am not surprised.
BUT
If 45% of Pakistani men are not virgin before marriage, I think this statement is incorrect because then how come only <1% of Pakistani population has HIV or AIDS. That is very low, compare to 45% of men having sex before marriage. Lets take using condoms as a factor to that half of the men's are protecting themselves, still 1% of HIV/AIDS in pakistan is pretty low.
well well, I spent 23 years of my life in Pakistan and few years here in uk. so Pakistan is not fairy tale to me. perhaps I know more than I know about here.
It all depends the group of people you interact with and you assume its same for everyone. I had this same perception, only changed when I interacted and observed other groups / type of people.
I use to think every one is same like me who just dont assume its right for anyone to do it before marriage. but life and people teach the cruel reality of life. We dont just accept it, even the act is there no one try to publicise or commit it not even to close friends.

My take on this is that if someone does something, whether one isolated incident, or a whole string of incidents, such as one night stands or wahtever, if he's truly sorry for it then you should let it go. In fact, if he never got anyone pregnant, or got an STD, then I would rather he nto tell me ANYTHING about his past. Sometimes the phrase "ignorance is bliss" is true. Likewise, I would do the same.
