taking the catch on his own ball. It was like he is holding a flower or something. If they don’t include him in the test matches for Indian tour, it will be a drastic mistake. Just my 2 cents.

i have yet to see any other Pakistani player making a difference like Afridi does. If not bat, he can bowl well and is a terrific fielder. the last person was wasim akram to have such an impact on the game. i am not comparing the the two, but afridi is an all round threat.

Afridi, no matter how brainless he is, is great to watch on his day. He will be included for the Indian tour I'm quite sure (for both tests and one dayers); and I would love nothing more than for him to smack Sreesanth and Bhajji into oblivion (even though I'm sure he will fail quite a few times too because he is such a brainless shmuck, but boy if it's his day, Sreesanth ko Symonds ka chacha yaad aajayega).

I think Shahid Afridi has become a better cricketer since he started focusing on his bowling. To be fair to him he should be considered a bowling allrounder who can tear the other team apart with his batting if he gets going. However, he needs to make his place in the team based on his bowling which he is currently doing and hence has revitalised his position in the team. Just my 2 cents.

And if you all remember, thats how he came into the team back in 1997 was it? He came in as a legspinners, a replacement for Mushtaq Ahmad for that Kenya tour...and the rest is history.

Fine by me for ODI's, but no way in hell should he be the vice captain in test matches. If it were upto me, Younis would captain both the test and ODI sides with Malik as vice captain (and Afridi nowhere near the picture).

Hilarious. Anyways, I'm sure quite a few Pakistanis feel that Malik is not assertive enough as captain. We will soon find out, I guess (The Indian tour is always a good benchmark for captains).

Younis was too scared to lead Pakistan after the world cup; I kind of lost some respect for him when he bailed on us.
I would make Afridi captain in both forms of the game in a heart beat. Its not always about performance for a captain but also how he handles the boys. He's very positive and is a great leader. A captain should be a great leader and not always the best player.
I would sincerely hope before his career is done the pcb make Afridi the captain for atleast 1 season.
