Hey girlies

My best friend brought me a designer bag for my birthday and now whenever an older, brand hugging, know-it-all aunty/baji sees it, they compliment me and then say…is this a real Gucci bag?

I answer by saying it was a gift from my friend, but cannot for the life of me say…real or not, its cute, why do you have to question it.

I would never ask that!

not necessary they r jealous...often wen we r frank to anybody our czn,frnd ect ect we can ask like it...n in ur case the gucci brand is toooo xpensive...dont take it serious or feel they making fun of u n ur bag....u can say dat u would nt ask ur frnd or say confidently YES it is original...simple..

the avg desi is competitive, materialistic, and hypocritical. If you say the bag is real they will either ask you what you do for a living or who bought you such an expensive gift. Or They will think stupid girl how could she spend so much on just a handbag, imagine how much further that money could have gone. You really can't win and I find it highly rude when people to ask how much people pay for the things they have. desis love to do that and have no shame beating around the bush it's annoying.

ohh i was with a friend when this actually happened... she responded to someone who was question on whether her louis vuitton bag was real, and it was because i had gone to the store with her when she bought it. She responded " I like your haircolor is it real?" to an aunty who obviously was dying her hair... aunty's face was priceless..

honestly i don't have it in me to stay stuff like she did so i would respond simply by saying "Thanks I like it too!" or something to the effect of "my friend has awesome taste doesn't she?"

People who are genuinely happy for me dont question whether it is real or not. On the other hand, those that live in the materlistic world - who keep going on about the latest diamond set their hubby got them - really want to know the details, i guess they see it as competition!
