I am a Pakistani before being an American. I love Pakistan and I dont need to prove my love and affection to anyone. But before everything I love Humanity. Insaniyat is the thing which comes before everything. I love people equally, people who live and let live and promote peace.

I hate extremist Pakistanis as much as the Isrealis involved in the recent problems in US and the Indians ( may they be Muslims or Hindus) involved in killing innocent people.

Ok people,

New York is a wonderful place, and the US too is great. Whoop de doo for all the free speech and liberty stuff But two points:

  1. The name of the country is Pakistan not "Pakiland". Some of you might have a bone to pick with Pakistan and Pakistanis, but please do not insult the entire country.

    1. In the freedom of speech bit, Pakistan is not as bad as people make it out to be. Read the opinion columns in newspapers. Ardisher Cowasjee of Dawn even advocated some sort of control on Urdu newspapers becasue of the "liberties" they take with news.
    2. There are a lot of excesses being done in Palestine with the backing of a SECTION of the elite in the US(ie the oilmen represented by Cheney and co.) The entire country is NOT culpable in this crime.
    3. Alibeta made a good point some time ago that we have to be educated to be strong and to assert ourselves. And I want to stress this point. The university where I study, there are hardly any Muslims in Phd programs...any PhD program. Do you know who are the people in every PhD program...and I mean every single one from American Studies to Zoology? Yes Jewish people of course but who else??? Koreans. Thats right Koreans! (Indians are moslty in Computers and such and Chinese are in the sciences) They are represented in every single graduate program including music and art history!! And look at them. They as it is famously quoted borrowed a certain 5 year plan from us and the rest is history.
    4. For those of you who doubt the tolerance of American society look at India and what the Muslims over there are going through over the killing of some fanatics in a train! It isn't perfect of course but it is better than, say Europe or our "brethren" of Saudi Arabia who look upon us as being slightly worse than dirt? New York has to be admired for its diversity and spirit of tolerance. Do you know that the New York public library keeps Urdu books published in Pakistan, on how Jews are satanic and going to hell? It reminds of our golden past when the Baghdad library was the envy of the world. When people used to obey Allah's command "Read. Read in the name of thy Lord who created thee from a clot of Blood." The first revelation to the prophet Muhammed was scietific in its essence. That should tell us a lot.

I ramble too much and it is late in the night. The above is my opinion only so chill guys.
