Re: I love Jhoomar!
jhoomer/tikka is very much punjabi..(not necessarily muslim) but yes..
the matha patti/tikka is south indian.
as far as i know..looking at the historical paintings etc.....hyderabadi brides too wore a jhoomer...

i think jhoomer was bought in vogue by the mughal princesses.
i've also seen matha patti worn by the traditional afghani and balochi brides.
Re: I love Jhoomar!
^ What is that ball style tikka called? I’ve seen many brides wear it on their mehndi…
And…i’ve seen some people wear a huge tikka…but it looks more like a jhoomar…so do some people wear jhoomar’s in the middle of their head, instead of a tikka? ![]()
Re: I love Jhoomar!
^I was just going to say that. :)
Do you have any pics of the 2nd query you had, maroush?
If ur wearing a jhoomer and a nath. What looks best both on same side? or does it also look nice if wear d jhoomer left and the nath right?
In this pic its right and left… but it looks like d jhoomer is thrown on and can fall off
another Q: a teeka, nath and jhoomer. Isnt there too much going on if u wear all three?? anymore pictures of this combi? What teeka and nath and no jhoomer? what looks best…
please share soem pics..
