People think and fee.
Poeple of karachi felt PTI has real chance in making Govt.
People felt IK is honest and not driven by political(NS/Zardari-style) motives.
People saw him standing up to mqm, winning a seat speaking up..
People thought if there were no rigging PTI might change karachi for ever.
See some one had to be there, some one people could trust. Some one FOR the people, in short.
Other think to think about it, every one man show(dictators) did some stuff in the country, did it hold ? No.
Because change did not have base in people.
So its people who hold values fear change etc.

First time when PTI went karachi, they had people shooting them.
Now see the difference, who made goons of MQM respect pti?
What support PTI have in karachi other then ppl of karachi.
This support is mutual it gives power to PTI and to the people.
When people have power fear goes away.
So you can talk about the difference between
12th may(I think it was)
and 2013 election, when PTI was clearly powerful and resisting mqm.
PTI is the last party mqm would support. They can some time not hit PTI at most.
But that is not support.

The rangers did it all. And did you not read the news? The PTI convoy in karimabad got attacked by the MQM for the third time. In Hyderabad, the PTI supporters started fighting each other and the press conference for IK in Karachi turned into a fight as well.
And the MQM did support the PTI. It was all over the media for weeks.

PTI is holding its ground, people are coming and will come with PTI.
Today, analysis were saying PTI people looked scared.
But they were there.

Talk about overreaction SERIOUSLY!!
He is not the PM or Army chief or Sindh CM or even a federal or provincial minister so OBVIOUSLY he cannot practically change anything.
He was talking about openly speaking about fear of speaking out against MQM. Not long ago, parties were reluctant to even challenge MQM in their strongholds and certain areas were no go areas. PTI has not only openly challenged MQM but opening offices and holding jalsas in areas where no one dared to enter before.
Nowhere did he say that he made Karachi safe or anything?

Actually yes he did. He did it live on TV. Also again he and the PTI were not the first to speak out against the MQM. PPP and ANP have been doing so since the late 90s and much of the 2000s. Specifically the ANP. Or have you forgotten the Pashtun attacks from 2004 onwards? The largest ethnicity in Karachi after the “Mohajir” community are the Pashtuns. And they were pitched battles in many parts of Karachi between the armed elements of the ANP and the MQM.
