I like Amish people

This community is fastest growing community in USA. They are very nice people and I like them.

I just want to know if somebody here has experience of meeting Amish guys/ girls ?

I want to know what are the entertainment avenues in their lifestyle.

Re: I like Amish people

They get the opportunity to come out in to the world in the late teens to experience "life" ... many return home swearing to a life style of farm and frolic in a time warped setting. Very religious Christians ... and it appears they see everyone else as "the other" ... i.e. not very inclusive. However they have good manners and are very civil.

Fastest growing is a deceptive word ... fastest as a percentage of original population is quite high because they have a low overall population ... For example if a population of 20 people have grown by 10 people that is a 50% growth, on the other hand if a population of 20,000 has grown by 5,000 people although this figure is 4,990 more than the previous it is still only 25% growth.

Amish also have large families ... but to this day I don't know where they get their "cash" from ... ???

**i’m surrounded by Amish communities just on the outskirts of my city’s limits. they come to town in buggies. it’s hilarious to see a buggy N horse park alongside car parks on the grounds of thrice weekly farmer’s market. they are a very peace-loving people and a very loving N caring as well.

So Amish are your neighbours… Interesting !

Have you ever attended any of their community functions ? How girls and guys mingle outside of community. I think crimes are almost none existent.

Do they allow BF / GF relationships to their teenagers like outside world ?

Psyah - Hello brother

Yes, They are growing in numbers; as per data available on internet. I don’t know if they attract much outsiders or not. Just found their reference in sitcom and movies. Then I saw a documentary on their lifestyle. They earn cash by selling crops, dairy and making furnitures. They have very limited expenditures, so generally they should be well off.
