Besides if the inelligence can't locate these blood sucker taleban leaders, and they suck up all our budget then what's their use?
That's true.
But intelligence actually has divided extremists in the two categories of "good" and "bad" extremists. Good extremists are/were considered Pakistan's "strategic assets".
Unfortunately such a thinking is shared by "enlightened" military men like Musharraf and Pasha.
I think it's about getting information rather than establishing careers.
The information he got could be used to develop effective strategy against Taliban.
Yes the information he could be useful. What could have been more useful was:
"Hey I am going to meet so an so. If i do meet him, I will give you a missed call and you all come running in guns blazing."
That would have been absolutely brilliant. More than useful I say.

Agreed with you, but the problem is that isi cannot even locate the so called bad taleban leaders as well. As even Baitullah was also taken out by the Americans, otherwise he would still have been alive as the rest of his companions.

If he had given that information to the isi before he would have been killed much earlier. By the way Cm welcome back from me too.
It's so funny that panetta is telling Pakistan to take action against zawahiri as he is in pakistan's tribal areas and Pakistan is asking them for actionable intelligence. It's ironic that the time has come when foreigners have more information if our country as compared to our intelligence agencies.
Its amazing that he had all this information, met with all of these people yet the CIA never decided to get his cooperation to spy for the US or gather more intel? If even 1% of what he writes is true he is by far better informed than General Pasha himself.
Also since he met with all these Taliban and Al Qaeda individuals any man of honor would have informed the CIA of their whereabouts.
If none of it were true, he wouldnt have been murdered... Obviously there is something there, otherwise they would have ignored him.
So our intelligence can't find them yet this jouranlist can and he doesn't even share the information and nor the locations with the ISI or the CIA. Well done on him. We don't need to worry about the Taliban we need to worry about people like him who have information and do not even provide to the proper authorities to safe guard lives of innocents.
He did write a book didnt he!?!?
And look at it from his perspective, who in the establishment can he trust? The Journalists in Pak all know that the establishment is not their friend. And Shazad himself knew there were still those with connections to those extremists outfits within
the Army and intelligence.
