The word Cheestan in a urdu dictionary.

Now, that is not a name of any country as if we have Pakistan, Hindustan, Qazikistan, Uzbekistan, Sheshan, Faran, Bhutan, etc.

Interesting word. Interesting meanings. I, myself came to know the correct meaning right now:D … I think I’d heard it before but was not aware of the meaning.

OK...Let's break it down...

It's got a 'Ch' so that rules out Arabic...

'ees' is not in Sanskrit...

That leaves Turkish and Persian, and since 'Tan' is Persian, the word has Persian roots...

'Tan' means 'place of'...

Don't know what the heck a 'Chees' is...

My guess is it's a cupboard...
