If this happens then SriLanka will surely look for a replacement team, and who better than the friendly Asian neighbours : Pakistan.
Pakistan will most likely say yes to an offer from Sri lanka. This will allow our young players to have a taste of the international Test cricket.
Additionally, since NewZealand will have pulled out from Sri lanka, it will allow for a new team to take part in the tri-angular tournament next month. As of now, its going to be Lankans, Kiwis and Pakistanis in the tournament, but if Kiwis pull out, then Sri lanka can invite South Africa. And if they’re not busy then I am sure they’ll take up the offer.
Not only will our players benefit from tougher opponents in the form of experience, it’ll also mean more cricket on the TV-monitors for this cricket crazy nation.
So lets all pray for NewZealand’s withdrawl from SriLanka
