I have to...

read the bible at school. all the other students will get such a better grade than me on the exam for it. the teachers and most other Americans have so little knowledge about anything except their western culture, and their Bible. The teacher is reading us these stupid quotes like “one who has not read or has basic knowledge of the Bible is like illiterate in the western world”

Cant you drop the subject? Talk to the teachers..
Ask your parents to talk to them.. (that is if you dont want to study the subject).

^ yeah but I’m in high school
The teachers already had prepared some words like that they are not trying to teach religon just trying to help you get some knowledge of the bible for better comprehension of western literature.

That’s why most white people are ignorant not knowing about anything happening around the world. Just getting brainwashed by biased media and the lying government. They have only knowledge of US history and their culture, to them it’s all about US, and the world revolves around them.

I’m gonna talk to the teacher tomorrow. One teacher when talking about the bible said that Judaism believes some parts of the bible, but Islam and other religions like Hinduism, etc. don’t.
(Ignorant Ignorant Ignorant) Doesn’t Islam believe in Prophet Isa, Nouh, Adam, and the books like Torah (original) and the Original Bible before new testaments?

What's wrong with reading the bible? Just for the sake of learning about it doesn't mean you become christain, you are reading it for learning part of it. I think you should stay in that class and try to clear any misunderstandings that exist about Islam. God has given you a chance to show people what Islam is all about.

Yes, islam does believe in the torah and injeel and psalms, but the ones which were the original ones, and not corrupted.

It’s a good idea to talk to the teacher, tell your teacher that islam believes in them, and they are referred to ‘People of the book’ in the quran..

If you remain silent in class, how will they know what islam says, since they dont know, shouldnt you tell them?

Kake_Atomey_Bum: yeah, very good point I'm ok for reading it in the aspect of me getting to know their religion more so I'll have an advantage over them when I know about my religion Islam and also their basic beliefs. But I still have a lot of knowledge to gain about Islam, I still would like to first look at the translation of the Quran and make sure I have no questions or doubts about anything.

But I also still stand by my statement that look at their knowledge; very few of them know a lot about anything except their culture ("World revolves around my culture and the West" kinda idea) That I can't stand they know zippo about anything out of their border. But what else can you expect from them?

You should tell your teacher that they need to learn about Islam and Quran if they want to live in this modern world. Offer to teach him/her a few classes so that they should have atleast some basic knowledge about Quran.

The teacher said that the one paragraph in history we read about other religions is enough. I dont care if I dont do good on this Bible exam I'll just argue with the teacher after school if I do.

You know?

In grade-school my child was taught a little about Islam.

And what she was taught was positive.

reading the bible for the sake of learning is not wrong...btw why r they MAKING u read it anyways?

we're done with the Bible I passed the exam with 100. :)
i did learn from reading it, but the stories are changed a lot.

lolzz, fall in the trap? I got a better grade than the other students, they have barely any knowledge of their own religion.
